[Movies] Brett Ratner Wants To Direct Guitar Hero Movie

We knew it was coming...
Brett Ratner has confirmed to MTV that he is up to the idea of directing a movie based on the Guitar Hero video game franchise.
"I love Guitar Hero and I think it's a part of pop culture. I would love to do a Guitar Hero movie, if Activision would ever let me. I'm trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a Guitar Hero movie."
"It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the Guitar Hero competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts."

How about no! Perhaps make this a documentry like King of Kong, but don't hollywood it up because Brett would degrade the Guitar Hero franchise.

If he did go through with this, then he would rip off one of the best "guitar hero" spoofs on youtube. Search Youtube for "guitar hero movie trailer" and almost this EXACT premise is there. This would be SO bad

Guitar Hero would work like an anime. There was a commercial with this dude who looked Duane from Home movies and some chick standing with him. They were in a city with this huge disproportionate monster attacking the city. The kids played a few riffs and this hole opened up and the monster was sucked up. THATS THE ONLY WAY THIS MOVIE WILL NOT SUCK.
Do not make it an update to Wizard.
