Hi. I don't remember all of my GI Joe action figures being donned in black, except for Snake Eyes. Thanks.

They aren't very unique...I know the cartoon clothes are pretty campy but this is plain.

Marlon Wayans? How about Will Sasso as Gung Ho? With the sailor hat and vest. Not George Clooney's Batman costume without the bat logo and nipples.
Posted By: Gung Ho (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:00 PM
Awesome! Just like in the X Men movies they are ALL in the same constume!!!!!! Way to stay true to the original!!!!

They're selling the characters of the film not the actors.
Posted By: Guest#0495 (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:02 PM
Snake eyes looks unreal. everyone else looks stupid. remember when Burton made Batman black? It worked cuz it was 1 guy in black. when everyone is in black, its doesn't separate the characters. this BLOWS
Posted By: alcoholic (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:03 PM
Baroness wore black most of the time. They would sell more merch if they colored it up a bit. Maybe these are the stealth unis?
Posted By: serpenbore (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:44 PM
Lame.
Posted By: Nick (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:48 PM
Ugh, I hate when they give them all matching suits. XMen movies sucked for that reason and now this?
Posted By: Champ (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:54 PM
You guys complain about everything you see if it doesn't fit a specific visions. Relax, chill the hell out, and stop trying to analyze movie characters costumes. It's a movie for goodness sakes.
Posted By: Guest#2571 (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:58 PM
Maybe my childhood memories are skewed- but I could swear everyone wore a different outfit then one another back then.
The Baroness is right and Snake Eyes, while not dark blue (or if it is, can't tell) looks good... the rest- WTF were they thinking?!?
Posted By: cyks (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 06:10 PM
Marlon Wayans??? WHY? Posters look awesome.
Posted By: Bruno (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:21 PM
WTF???? Why is everyone dressed up like the Baroness????? They better put Duke in fatigues at some point. Boy hollywood has to take thier spin on things and shove it down our throats...Let me guess the term "Real American Hero" is no where near this film.

Solid Snake comes to GI JOE!
Posted By: thatdamngood (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:43 PM
The cutting off of the faces is a straight rip from the Matrix Reloaded preview posters. Except the Matrix ones looked great, these look all same same. But I'll still give this movie a go! Joe is cool!
Posted By: GAZ (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 05:37 PM
I dont remeber my x men all in black either but that seemed to work out....for the most part.
Posted By: Corey (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 07:14 PM
yep, its just another generic movie.
the original would be slightly cheesy, but they should be bad-ass and in character.
this is going to be like any other war movie with gi joe names

So, is Cobra Commander going to follow the Bullshit Rule of Comic Book Movies where he is going to be unmasked 90% of the time?
Posted By: Guest#0071 (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 06:36 PM
Where the fuck is Roadblock?
Posted By: MBD (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 06:44 PM
nevermind the costumes and stuff being all the same. channing tatum????? the douchebag from those dumbass step up movies as fucking DUKE????? thats like casting zac efron as he-man.
Posted By: dusty (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 06:54 PM
Yeah.. Since today's military elite forces wear khaki shirts and fatigue pants with a baseball cap.

as a huge GIJOE fan, i must say how disappointed i am in the costume design! the movie could be great, and i will enjoy it regardless, just to see my favorite childhood toys, cartoon, and comic book in action. but snakeeyes looks way too beefy, with a horrible costume (except the visor, which is dead on). and stormshadow is just pathetic. the baroness is hot, though. and they better keep the storyline accurate. scarlett marries snakeeyes in the comic books, but i'm guessing for the movies sake, they will have her be the love interest of duke (channing tatum)

I don't remember the S&M GI Joe action figure line...
Posted By: Puff (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 08:25 PM
Generic crap outfits.
Posted By: 3rtg (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
Yeah seriously they couldn't make them look a little different?
It was ok in X-Men because they all looked totaly differen't from the neck up. (visor, white hair, long hair, crazy Canadian hair) Plus the accent colors on the costumes were diferent and matched the characters comic costumes.
In GI Joe all the guys will have short cropped military haircuts. I would have gone with some camo-paint on the armor that hinted at the cartoon costumes.

if any of you dumbasses dont want to see the movies dont all you guys do is bitch just shut up and enjoy some stuff for once i cant wait

Posted By: D. (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 09:20 PM
Do you smell that? Whats that smell?
Oh wait, i know it, its, its
EPIC FAIL
Posted By: Marc (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 09:21 PM
Yeah, I'm not crazy about the Joe Gang having the same uniforms, it's not an XMen movie. And why is a kid playing Cobra Commander??? Where's my copy of GI Joe The Movie haha!
Posted By: chAd (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 09:47 PM
I heard Tomax and Xomat are gonna look exactly the same. Almost.
Posted By: Guest#6930 (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 10:43 PM
I think it is safe to say people are attached to GI Joe because of the toys. Can you imagine some kid with these toys? "They all look the same, mom!" AWFUL. At least no one gives a damn about the story, so they can do whatever they want.
BUT, I would like to see the movie have all laser guns! And bring back Salvo!
Posted By: Asahi (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 10:53 PM
This isn't your father's GI Joe
Posted By: William (Guest) on January 27, 2009 at 11:38 PM
the movie is going to have the best three of the GIJoe universe: Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and Zartan.
And an organized military unit should have matching uniforms. No one complained when they all used the same rifles in the cartoon.
Posted By: Bittermidget (Guest) on January 28, 2009 at 10:39 AM
I really hope that they have a scene after the credits with some facts/advice then pause so we can say "know we know" and then they say "...and knowing is half the battle."
Posted By: Spinne (Guest) on January 28, 2009 at 11:05 AM
I like the costumes. Its about an anti-terrorist group, just like the cartoon/comic. Does a covert military faction wearing different broght colors make sense? No. As one poster wrote, this definitely isn't your dad's GI Joe. Also, there will be some hinting at a Scarlett/SE attraction, but Wayans' Ripcord will be trying to pursue her. Duke's ex gf from HS is Baroness in the movie. Lots of changes, lets hope it works.

sorry but I can not get excited for a movie with Channing Tatum in it

"Maybe my childhood memories are skewed- but I could swear everyone wore a different outfit then one another back then."
no, you are right, and it was stupidest, gayest thing in the world to read the comics, and see characters decked out in winter gear fighting in a middle east desert or seeing some jackass in a football jersey with a bazooka or a shirtless man with a red sash with throwing stars running around a battlefield barefoot.
this is a movie about a military combat unit, and guess what? you don't get away with wearing civvies in battle when you are in the military.
grow up ladies, it isn't high concept cinema, it is a movie based on a toy line.
transformers was an awesome movie, and this COULD be too. so wash the sand out of your vaginas and at least wait for the fucking thing to be released before you condemn it as bad.
Posted By: you collective idiots (Guest) on January 28, 2009 at 02:34 PM
YOOOO JOOOEEEEE!!!!!!
Oh wait, wrong movie. From the looks of the poster... it's X-Men 4 - with guns!
Posted By: LRM (Guest) on January 28, 2009 at 03:31 PM
Couldnt' they at least be CAMO?
I'd be okay with body armor instead of the gimmicky costumes, but come on, GI JOE should at least wear Chamoflauge.
Posted By: Freakzilla (Guest) on January 28, 2009 at 07:28 PM
Realistic: yes. Interesting: not very. I don't have my hopes up, but honestly, whether or not this movie sucks will probably have little to do with what the costumes look like.
Posted By: BJC (Guest) on January 28, 2009 at 07:32 PM
Snake Eyes looks pretty similar to the the original,or second version, from what you can see of the visor. Storm Shadow, not so much. Gotta admit, the uniforms from the toys would look pretty stupid in real life. Shipwreck would definitely become a gay icon!

epic quote from the real movie

I am old enough to remember when GI Joe was one guy! Had a beard and all. I thought he was the greatest. In the 80's when Joe became a unit I watched the cartoons - this could be really good.
Posted By: Guest#6813 (Guest) on January 29, 2009 at 10:03 AM
not everyone is wearing black you color blind tards, storm shadow is wearing white and the rest are wearing xmen hand me downs!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted By: steelmoose (Guest) on January 29, 2009 at 11:08 AM
Needs more Sienna Miller. Snake Eyes is boring, ninjas are old meme.
