Linkin Park - Reanimation Review

They couldn't say remix, otherwise P.Diddy would sue them.
Welcome back once again to the one show that ain't half bad…nope…it's all bad! To all those who sent me feedback on my last two reviews, thanks you. Whether good or bad, feedback is always appreciated. Before I get to the review, to all those who was offended or pissed off or whatever at my little jab at Australia, I'm sorry. Okay, with the opening spiel done and over with, lets get to the real meat and potatoes of this…the review.
Linkin Park: Reanimation
The sophomore album to their fantastically sold "Hybrid theory" debut cd is a…remix cd? WTF? Yes folks, only in America can you make more money but letting other people redo songs you already did. And why couldn't they call it Linkin Park: Remixed? Afraid P.Diddy would sue or something? The problem with remix albums, and remixes in general, is that either the remix is way better than the original, thus making the original worthless or sucking like no other, making the remix album…well…suck. Yup, the Rule of The Remix.
1. Intro- Mixed in with all the songs and whatnot is little soundbites. They all suck, except for this one. Its nothing fancy, just a simple, yet melancholy, cello instrumental. And for better or worse, its better than half the cd.
2. Pts. Of Athrty- I'm guessing that means Point of Authority. Is mispelled words all the new rage these days? Pretty okay song, but the lyrics really mean nothing and it sounds like any other Linkin Park, except for the emceeing of Mike Shinoda, then its pretty good. But when there's singing, it is bad. I could probably copy and paste that sentence for the rest of the review.
3. Enth E Nd- End the end, for the phonetically challenged. The rule of the remix plays here, as this remix is supremely better than the original. And the original I liked a lot, so that's saying something. Kutmasta Kurt and Motion Man got skillz, with a special Z. Definite download…I mean, check it out.
5 Frgt/10- Where's four? It was just a stupid voice bite, so we skip it. And I'm guessing this is Forgotten? What the hell is with these titles! I don't exactly remember the original, and I doubt I'll ever remember this one. The deep voiced guy (Chali 2na) should choose better works, cause he could do some good, but not in the world of Linkin park.
6 P5hng Me A*wy- These titles are pissing me off. Aside from the pretty cool techno beginning, this is pretty pitiful once the singing starts. Actually scratch that…it ain't singing, its moaning and groaning. Push me away from here! Heh… I should write for Reader's Digest with zingers like that.
7 Plc.4 Mie Haed- I can't even decipher this. Like most all Linkin Park songs, its okay until the people start talking.
8 X-ecutioner Style- Alright, now we're in style! The X-Ecutioners always can find a way to make me smile. This is a definite must get, this is the diamond in the rough. And this cd has been pretty rough.
9 H! Vltg3- My mom always said if I can't saying anything nice, then don't saying anything at all. Next.
11Wth>You- Not bad…just not that good. I swear, it pissed me off that these guys have such good beats and they want to scream and moan and… yeesh. I liked the original better too.
13 PPr:Kut- Its track one of Hybrid Theory on hyper speed!
Actually has some good stuff in it, the Linkin Park-less are the best. Though, you already knew that didn't you?
14 rnw@y- Okay, this doesn't even sound phonetically right? Forgettable song anyway.
15 My{Dsmbr- Oh god, they took the one song that I truly liked and made it song like a video game? Bastards! Okay, so I'm being mean. This remix actually works, as its pretty subtle. Good song.
17 By_Myslf- Suprisingly, one of the better songs on the cd. Two good songs in a row? The screaming parts have to go though.
18 Kyur4 Th Ich- Get these guys Hooked On Phonics, stat! Weird techno intro to start. A minute in and I hear no Linkin Park band members…groovy. Everyone should this track a shot, as Chairman Hahn puts another diamond in the rough on this cd.
19 1stp Klosr- Oh god…this sucks. And I don't mean that in a cruel way its just that…this song sucks.
20 Krwlng- Great intro, you know why? 'Cause it's the same intro as they have for the cd! I actually find this version better than the original, more slower and Aaron Lewis can actually make the whole 'crawling in my skin" stuff nto seem so…whiny. I like the slow build during the song too…good touch. This is a definite song to check out.
God, that was cruel and unusual. Don't really bother to get the cd, just download Krwling, Kyur4 Th Ich, My{Dsmbr, X-ecutioner Style, and Enth E Nd off Napster or whatever. The rest of the cd is boring, some bordering on pathetic. Still, 5 good songs out of 20, well really 15, songs isn't that bad. And the cover art on the cd case is pretty nifty. Which proves another point: Mike Shinoda is the only talented member of this band!
The 411: Except for a few good songs, this cd is pretty forgetable, and not worth teh time or the effort. Unless your a diehard, and I mean diehard with no shoes whil walking on glass saying one liners diehard fan, than you should pass.
