Greetings, salutations, and all of that jazz - It's Thursday in the music zone so you know what that means – Fact or Fiction baby! This week we're firing off some the new talent your way, as reviewer Aaron Mayagoitia is in the studio along with one-half of the Quick and Dirty team, Brittany Haskins. today they rip apart your music news with real fan views!




Round 1!

1. You will be checking out a new Korn album.

Aaron Mayagoitia. FACT: I got into Korn thanks to their last Untitled album, and I got into that album because of Terry Bozzio being involved in the recording process. Bozzio is not working with the band anymore but the music that came out was enough to make me want to listen to more stuff by the band. I don't have expectations of any kind for the next album, but I'll damn sure give it a try.

Brittany Haskins. FACT: I really liked Korn when I was younger and got into them because of a guy I liked, but I still get down to some good old Korn. There is really just something about them that keeps my interest. I am looking forward to what else they have to put out and what they are coming up with these days, considering they're sober now.

2. DMX on Celebrity Rehab will help him jump-start his music career.

Aaron Mayagoitia. FICTION: I so want this to be fiction. The fact that rappers, rockers, models, actors, etc. are getting used to behaving like assholes with themselves and those who are around them and then capitalizing on those antics to get away with cash grabs disguised as ‘rehab' devaluates the word ‘talent'. People are entitled and enticed to improve themselves, but please keep it away from the cameras.

Brittany Haskins. FICTION: It is pretty pathetic when "celebrities" exploit their problems to restart their careers. Its a very lame publicity stunt. We don't feel sorry for you because you abused your wealth and fucked yourself up. Shouldn't rehab be a private affair? This makes me want to burn his albums rather than buy them.

3. Put a fork in Velvet Revolver, because their career is done.

Aaron Mayagoitia. FACT: Slash is recording a solo album, Duff got a band of his own together, Scott is out of the band for good… It won't take long before everyone loses interest and Velvet Revolver becomes a blip on the screen. Besides, the music Velvet Revolver came up with never proved to be something that deserved more than a couple of albums; I'd trade the two Velvet Revolver albums for the new Guns N' Roses album any day.

Brittany Haskins. FACT: Most of them are off doing their own things now, I'm surprised most of them are still alive, and they weren't that good to begin with. It was sort of a throwback to the 90's (not necessarily a bad thing) but its been done. Just not my taste perhaps... I just don't think they would have too much to keep working with if they kept it up.

4. If Simon and Paula leave American Idol, the show will crash inside of a season.

Brittany Haskins FACT: Simon is the guy that everyone loves to hate, paula is the drunken celebrity, randy is the one that tells the truth without any flare, and the new chick tries to tell the truth with flare but fails miserably.
The show would be a lot worse than it is.

Aaron Mayagoitia. FACT: Let's face it, the only thing people care about when watching the show is to watch how Simon makes talentless people cry and how Paula does her best to make up for Simon's bashing in a very awkward way only she can pull off. As for getting to know America's latest talent, people are into that for the first five minutes and then it's over. Simon and Paula are just pressing the network to give them more money to stay.

5. Having a kid would do wonders for getting Amy Winehouse to settle down and act like a responsible adult.

Brittany Haskins FICTION: Amy Winehouse should not even be around children let alone have one. I honestly don't think it would live very long. I'm surprised Courtney Love raised a child without the occurrence of death.

Aaron Mayagoitia. FICTION: Are you insane? Winehouse needs to be kept away from any human being that requires someone else to take care of him/her. Remember Tamagotchi? I bet she couldn't even take care of one of those things even with cheat codes.

6. Screw the haters, a new Creed album will rock.

Brittany Haskins FICTION: Creed needs to stay off of mainstream radio and back on the religious side of the fence. I don't want to hear an openly Christian Eddie Vedder, sorry but keep that shit to yourself

Aaron Mayagoitia. FICTION: Have you listened to Alter Bridge? Now THAT band rocks. Creed's crutch is the only member that makes the band sound like Creed: Scott Stapp. Please keep the guy away from the rest of the band and don't make them waste their time. Myles Kennedy for the win!
