It's been a rough couple years for Cornell, as he has alienated his fanbase with the release of Scream. While I don't think that the album has been the aural cancer many people were making it out to be, Cornell has proved, yet again, that he sucks when he's going solo. That's despite the efforts of Timbaland. I wanted to say "best efforts", but I don't know what Timbaland's best really is.
I'm rehashing old shit here for people that have been in comas the last several months.
This past week, Chris Cornell released the video for his song "Long Gone." However, it's now the album version. It's the "Howard Benson Version." If you don't know who Howard Benson is, he makes Bob Rock look like Bob Cock with the resume that Benson has. The difference between the "Long Gone" video and the CD version: it doesn't have shitty R&B beats all over it.
It's basically a pop-rock tune.
I think it's pretty fucking decent, after comparing the two. You make your own decision:
If that's the best Relapse has to offer, remind me never to have faith in rap again.

All these Rock Band and Guitar Hero games coming for special artists and various artists...I think they should do an underground/extreme Rock Band or Guitar Hero with tracks from the most brutal and heavy Death/Black/Thrash/Metalcore/Grindcore (and any interbred) bands ever. Like to see all thoughs kids who think there hot stuff try to played by Inferno, Hellhammer or Frost.

will somebody PLEASE get Cornell in touch with Kim Thayil? Seriously, Chris. Just stop fucking around, and re-form Soundgarden.

Whoever made the call on that Cornell song deserves a medal. It's now okayish. It's just we all know Cornell can do sooo much better.

Im sorry, but the new version of "Long Gone" sounds like shit... The tempo is alot faster and the drums sound completely programmed. My friend can do a better job on drums with his computer in his room. I actually think Cornell's new album is pretty decent... I do not like hiphop or rap, Im a rock guy, but I can listen to his album all the way through and only complain about 2-3 songs haha

@Drew I for one believe they should just stop making these rock band and guitar hero games the whole idea is old and not fun anymore.

I was really hoping for Symphony of Destruction on the new GH. I guess there`s probably legal reasons relating to the whole Peace Sells album being DLC for Rock Band, but this still sucks. Even people who don`t like metal enjoy playing Megadeth on GH. Hangar 18 would have been nice too, but Symphony is better for the XBox portion of the market who have no option of getting GH1. Oh well- still more than enough great songs to justify buying this.
