"It just dawned on me that this is our last show ever in the United States," Reznor told the crowd. "Don't be sad. I'll keep going. But I think I'm going to lose my … mind if I keep doing this, and I have to stop."

The outing will see a digital release on July 28 and will be followed by a physical release on August 18. Other artists contributing include Monster Magnet, Blaqk Audio, The Flaming Lips and more.

Thrice set Beggars as the title to their new self-produced album which will see an October release. Band vocalist/guitarist Dustin Kensrue had the following to say about the title for the effort: "I think we are at most times deluded in thinking that we are totally responsible for our circumstances, but in the end almost everything is beyond our control to a high degree and we can't even be sure we will wake up tomorrow. Whether you believe that God created you for a purpose, or that the world is governed by blind chance, everything in life is a gift at its core; we are beggars all."
According to recent postings Twitter postings from band frontman Daryl Palumbo, Glassjaw looks to have a new EP in the works. Palumbo said:
"Beck and I are sitting in his car listening to the new Glassjaw EP that we've just completed. Shit SLAMS."

"There's talk of a reuniting of Soundgarden in the states soon," Smith said. "I know actually someone specific who told me that, who is actually specifically in their organization. Kinda told me that they're talking about it."
The Dillinger Escape Plan officially announced that they have created Party Smasher Inc. as the new umbrella that they will be releasing their future albums, shirts and more through. The group recently partnered up with label Season Of Mist to help aid them in the label side of the venture. Furthermore the band has now officially confirmed Option Paralysis as the title to their new album which they will soon begin recording with a release early next year being planned. For now, band frontman Greg Puciato had the following to offer about the new endeavor:
"...We are creating an umbrella known as PARTY SMASHER INC. that we will be putting out all of our future endeavors under. Our records, our shirts, our whatever the fucks....all of it is from now on coming out under that moniker. You'll see that on there no matter where or what it is, and that's how you'll know if something you are getting is really an official DEP release and not a copy, like on the limited shirts and limited other things that we are gonna be doing. That will be on there, and if you don't see it, on EBAY or something, it's not legit."

Megadeth chose Endgame as the title to their new album. It is expected to see a September 1 release. Speaking on the effort, band lynchpin Dave Mustaine offered the following: "Thematically, I've never been known to be a silent bystander in a world that needs our participation. As more is revealed about our former President's legacy, a little-known yet staggeringly frightening document which was signed into law, named 'ENDGAME,' has been uncovered. The album 'ENDGAME' is the most energetic music offering I have penned in over a decade and is far more believable than knowing someone signed 'ENDGAME' -the document- into law. The album is also the perfect 'ass- kicking' music to listen to once you are done reading the aforementioned document!"
A handful of track titles have also been revealed for the effort, they include: "Headcrusher" "1,320" "How The Story Ends" "This Day We Fight!"
Limp Bizkit announced that they are hoping to release their new album sometime this year. Durst says, "We're getting together our demos right now and we're going to go in and record them."

It's been a long time since I've had a nice blurb to write about on Amy Lee. People that have been reading my column over the last few years might remember my loathing of Lee, for various reasons that I don't really feel like rehashing.
Over the better part of the last 5 years, basically all of the original male members have left Evanescence, with the exception of one, if I recall correctly. Well, it came out, this week that former members Ben Moody, John LeCompt, and Rocky Gray formed a new band. Moody left Evanescence after Fallen. He cited creative differences with Lee. LeCompt and Gray followed in 2007. I remember posting about that.
Well, helming the new band will be: another female vocalist.
That's "Fuck you" #1 to Lee.
The new frontlady will be Carly Smithson. She finished in sixth place during the seventh season of American Idol. The girl has a set of pipes on her, too. I really look forward to hearing what she can bring. I went looking for proof that Smithson was, indeed, going to provide some poise. Then I found this:
Glorious "Fuck You" #2. Smithson does a really nice job there, in my opinion. At least she can sing live (unlike Lee).
The group will use The Fallen as their moniker. This, obviously, alludes to Evanescence's 2003 major-label debut album, Fallen. I also took it as people that have "fallen from the good graces" of Lee.
"Fuck You" #3.
Moody and his new bandmate Smithson sat down with the Los Angeles Times to discuss the details about their new band The Fallen. You can dick around with that here.
What followed in the wake of that announcement was a statement from Lee:
Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? There's some pretty weird stuff flying around right now and I'd like to clear up some confusion in the press. As our fans already know, Ben Moody left Evanescence in 2003. Evanescence came out with a follow-up to Fallen in 2006. It was called The Open Door and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and reached platinum status in just over a month. The Open Door has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. We're currently working on new material that I'm extremely excited about. I believe that to make great music you have to give yourself the freedom to evolve. I don't see the point in making the same record twice, so I always want to challenge myself to make something better, stronger, and more interesting than before. That takes time, but it's worth the wait for me. Hopefully, it will be for the fans too. Look out for new music next year… -Amy
How deliciously immature. It shouldn't matter how many albums you've sold, as it's not at all indicative of the overall quality. The Open Door sucked. Couldn't get much more overproduced, and it greatly lacked the creative edge that Moody lent to Fallen. I truly believe the only reason it sold as many as it did was because
The Fallen will make a formal announcement TODAY in Hollywood, with a news conference and their first live performance. The debut song "Bury Me Alive" will be available at that time as a free download at wearethefallen.com, followed by a tour in September.
Nice! Courtney's putting Hole back together... well sort of. People goof on her for her personal lifestyle. And in that aspect of her life, she's an annoying druggie bitch.
But I've always enjoyed her music. Looking forward to "Nobody's Daughter". As well as Maynard's Love and Rockets cover.
And Tom DeLonge has some balls to even think of likening any piece of shit he "creates" to Pink Floyd.

You enjoyed Hole's music because Kurt Cobain and Billy Corgan wrote it.

I think you forgot to finish a sentence there at the end. "I truly believe the only reason it sold as many as it did was because".
