Rob Zombie inked a deal with Loud & Proud/Roadrunner for the release of his new album Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls And The Systematic Dehumanization Of Cool. The effort was most recently delayed from a release this month, and will now land in stores early next year. Speaking on the new deal with Loud & Proud/Roadrunner, Zombie had the following to say:
"Basically the label (Geffen) wasn't really in a position to promote it or deal with it. It was basically everything, from getting advance copies to the press to...There wasn't even time to make a video (for the first single, 'What?') and we were leaving for the tour. There was the sense that every little thing about the record was rushed -- not the music, 'cause that was done for a long time, and that was the thing that was so annoying. We spent so much time crafting the record; we didn't want it to be something that was so chaotic that it became, 'Oh, that's done and gone' two weeks later."
"It certainly wasn't an easy decision to make after all this time, but it had to be done. I love this new record and wanted to surround myself with an excited new group of people who can reignite my enthusiasm for working within a hard rock record label. Roadrunner seems to be the perfect place."

The band recently revealed that they had been in the studio working on a new track inspired by the videogame. It was announced that an ultimate special edition version of the game will come with a God Of War: Blood And Metal EP. While full details have yet to be revealed, the EP, which will be released as a digital download alongside the game on the day of its release, is described as "a heavy metal homage featuring original music inspired by God Of War." No word yet on whether or not any other metal artists will be featured on the EP as well.

The ever-famous Corey Taylor, vocal God behind Slipknot and Stone Sour confirmed recently that he had auditioned and was being considered as the front-man for Velvet Revolver after the departure of Scott Weiland.
So was Lenny Kravitz. So fucking what, right?
Taylor said:
"I had a meeting with those guys , we did some demos together, and it just didn't work — for whatever reason.
"It was just really cool. It was one of those things where it's like I could have got to jam with legends, man, in my opinion. But, you know, it was cool, and I still know those guys, I still hang out with them, and I still have nothing but respect."
I can't say I'm heartbroken about this; I'm too busy looking forward to his solo release, sometime in the near future.
Thanks whatever gods that be that Corey didnt get the job. I love Slipknot and Stone Sour but him and........Slash.....wtf?
