Creed's plan to release their new DVD Creed Live on December 8. The band will also screen the DVD in select theaters around the country on November 19.

[~~~***~~~]

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who ended their two year hiatus in July, are talking about a new album sometime around this time next year. Hopefully, it doesn't suck like Stadium Arcadium.

[~~~***~~~]

Fear Factory inked a deal with Candlelight Records and will release their new album Mechanize on February 9. The current incarnation of the band sees original vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares teamed up with Rhys Fulber on keyboards/programming, Byron Stroud on bass and Gene Hoglan on drums. More on the signing can be found here.

Nonpoint will release a new acoustic EP digitally on December 8. Dubbed, Cut The Chord, the outing will feature acoustic renditions of the following songs:

"What A Day"
"Circles"
"Rabia"
"Victim"
"Your Signs"

Currently, the band is at Racine, WI's Belle City Sound studio recording their next full-length album with Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett of Mudvayne/HELLYEAH handling the production duties. [~~~***~~~]

Norma Jean officially signed a deal with Razor & Tie for the release of their next album which they will begin recording in January for a summer release date. Band frontman Cory Brandan Putman had the following to offer on the signing:

"If we didn't sign to Razor & Tie, I think we would have gone on a killing spree, with no regard for life or limb. I think for the first time in our career, upon presenting our ideas, we get to hear the word "yes" more often. It's like discovering an unknown tribe on a distant island. Except we're the tribe and we don't know your language. Plus we have spears and swords and we're cannibals. Either way, we're insanely animated about R&T showing up and want to try on their Nike Air Jordans."

[~~~***~~~]

Avenged Sevenfold announced that they are writing and working on their upcoming new album and is in the final stages of solidifying their production team. The band says this album will be their most "epic" yet. Zacky Vengeance had the following to say:

"We came off of the road amidst one of the most turbulent times in history.  Everything going on around us was overwhelming, frightening, frustrating and confusing.  I must confess that it was also very exciting to me.  I'm sure you can share my sentiment.  We have been focused on only one thing, writing and preparing to record what to me is our most personal and epic Avenged Sevenfold album.   The reason is the fact that everything happening around us in the entire world might be a once in a life time source of inspiration and direction.  We have been harnessing every aspect of what  makes A7X truly unrelenting and  building off of that.  I don't think we sleep too much anymore because of the excitement we feel while writing this album.   Only a world spinning out of control could inspire the music and vision we have now.  Once again it is fucking exciting.  We will continue finalizing our songs until we feel every note does both You as well as Us justice.  We are also in the final stages of solidifying our production team, studios and engineers so that the  second the axe falls and the album is written we will spend day and night in the studio until it is complete.  This album will definitely take you on a very dark journey..."

Slayer was forced to postpone their impending "Canadian Carnage Tour" with Megadeth, Machine Head and Suicide Silence as a result of band frontman/bassist Tom Araya requiring immediate surgery for a back ailment. The procedure took place this past week in Texas. Guitarist Kerry King said the following:

"What is foremost in our minds right now is that Tom do whatever he needs to to get this taken care of. While all four of us are disappointed that we won't be able to see through all of our commitments set for the next few weeks, the most important thing is Tom's health. We thank the fans in Canada and here in L.A., the Megadeth camp, and everyone associated with 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' for their understanding. We look forward to seeing you all soon."

The group had the following to say on their decision to reunite for a few shows:

"2 and 1/2 years ago we put a sudden and abrupt halt to our musical careers under the name Byzantine. It was a really anti-climactic way to go out. We know a lot of fans and friends alike felt cheated that we didn't play any shows supporting our last album, "Oblivion Beckons". Now, we all feel like it's time to give a little something back, all guns blazing. Unfortunately, we are unable to tour since we live scattered across 3 states, have children and full time jobs, but we want to give our local fans something to remember us by."

Following a recent concert in Abu Dhabi, it looks as though Steven Tyler has walked away from Aerosmith.  The band's guitarist Joe Perry confirmed in, in so many words, in an interview, recently.

"Steven quit as far as I can tell."

As far as you can tell? As far as you can tell? How daft are you to know whether or not your frontman is still part of your band? Do you know anything else?

"I don't know any more than you do about it."

There's some good news. How can you confirm it if you know as much as we do! We look to YOU, as a source…Go on, Mr. Perry.

" I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know."

So, this is all just retarded speculation, I suppose.

"Part of the problem is that Tyler doesn't return his phone calls. He's notorious for that. That's one thing I've learned to live with. I try to overlook it. I like to pick my battles. Frankly, the last few months I've been wanting not to rock the boat. I don't want him canceling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn't want to call him out or anything and get him anymore pissed off, for whatever reason. So we just let things lie. So we did the gigs and, like I said, I got off the plane and saw this online. That's how I know about it."

Perry said he arrived home in Boston on Wednesday and read on the Internet that Tyler planned to leave the band.

"He has had no contact with me or the other band members…Right now I'm adjusting to how we're going to go on".

According to bassist Brad Whitford, Aerosmith is considering replacing Tyler already. According to a recent Classic Rock Magazine interview with Whitford:

"I'm not sure how good that would look. It would largely depend on who we could get and who would want to do it. That's big shoes to fill."

Nobody could replace Steven or imitate him – he's one of a kind. But if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?"

If Chevelle released Shameful Metaphors as a single, that could do well.

Anything new with Sinch lately? Been a while since any album from 'em.

With Sinch, the last email I got from the band talked about them recording bits and pieces. They were/are relying on funding from the band to get the next album off the ground.

I hope they drop something in 2010! :)
