Rick Ross & Young Jeezy Brawl At BET Hip Hop Awards
Rick Ross Young Jeezy

Well the annual BET awards was filmed, and violence broke out as Rick Ross and Young Jeezy got into an altercation that apperantly ended with gunshots outside the venue. Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, first exchanged words, before things got physical, according to eye-witness Funkmaster Flex. "Pushing and shoving" is what the veteran deejay reported via Twitter, before the fight escalated.

The backstage tussle moved to the parking lot of the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center. The exit included Ross and Jeezy, according to a report on Complex.com. There, gunshots were heard, and eye-witnesses reported a police arrest. During the fight, Bad Boy Records artist Machine Gun Kelly reportedly was maced.

Flex tweeted the following during the alteracation:

Funk Flex !!!!!

Jeezy and Rick Ross just had words backstage!! Pushing and shoving!!!

Funk Flex !!!!!

Shots fired in parking lot!!! Gunman arrested!!! Back to the show and Club later!!!

During this fight, the awards taping was suspended and the venue was reportedly held on lockdown. The lockdown suspended soon after, according to accounts, where Ross took the stage.

Onetime collaborators, and label-mates for nearly seven years, this is an ongoing feud between the Southern stars dating back til at least 2010.

TMZ has also released footage of the altercation below:

It is unfortunate that hip hop is still in a state where everyone cannot get together and celebrate success. Violence has been prevelanet at the hip hop awards shows, and in reality altercations like this put future shows in jeopardy. Added to that was Funkmaster Flex, who seems to be somewhat promoting the violence, perhaps in order to gain more publicity for himself, which is really the wrong move.

I think that in order to prevent acts like this from happening BET should take a hard stand against the artists, and if they are involved in any sort of violent act, then they should be banned from the show. Do not give them the publicity if they are going to threaten the image of hip hop, plain and simple.

The BET awards airs in October and features the yearly cyphers which we will have the participants listed below.

50 Cent & Fat Joe End Beet At BET Hip Hop Awards
Rick Ross Young Jeezy

While there was violence at the awards show, not all was bad, as it appears that 50 Cent and Fat Joe has ended their multi year beef, as they shook hands while they both participated in a Chris Lighty tribute.

50 Cent posted about the peace on twitter:

Thanks Chris would have wanted joe thereRT @NoupsDream: @50cent yo man, good job. u feed people n now u make peace. Salute!!!
29 Sep 12 ReplyRetweetFavorite
50 continued, even seeming open to the possibility of collaborating with the Bronx rapper.

Ill check it outRT @AR_Knight: Now that @50cent & fatjoe squashed things a dope collabo would be nice....

As well Fat Joe commented that :

"I came to do the tribute. I knew 50 Cent would be there, but I came with like, we gon' do this for Chris. And while we was there, 50 whispered some things in my ear that was gentleman-like. I'm a gentleman. I don't dislike people. I'm one of the most loveable dudes in Hip Hop, believe it or not. So you know, he just said the right things and a handshake [was] involved and that was that. It's just two grown men that just said yo, this is for Chris Lighty, this is for Hip Hop. Let's move on with our lives."

I am glad to see that the two emcees were able to realize that they were present to give tribute to Chris Lighty and kept their egos in check. Even if the peace was only for the evening, it was a big move by both men to let bygones be bygones and focus on the more important issue.

2012 BET Hip Hop Cypher Lineup
BET Cypher

It would not be the BET awards without the fan favorite cyphers, which features groups of emcees spitting rhymes against each other, in a friendly competition of sorts. This years group of artists has been announced and features:

Snoop Dogg, T.I., DMX, A$AP Rocky, Cassidy, Mystikal, Talib Kweli, B.o.B, Eve, Boy Jones, Brianna Perry, Childish Gambino, Chipmunk, Lil Chuckee, The Kid Daytona, Driicky Graham, E-40, YG, Hopsin, Iggy Azalea, Joey Bada$$, K'La, Kendrick Lamar, Kosha Dills, Kurupt, Mac Miller, Murda Mook, DJ Quik, RZA, ScHoolboy Q, Tito Lopez, Trae Tha Truth, Xzibit, Angel Haze and Ab-Soul.

While the list is decent, it somewhat pales in comparison to last years. They have announced two of the sessions, one which will be a west coast cypher which features E-40, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Xzibit, Kendrick Lamar, and YG. I like how there are mixing in the old and the new in this cypher, and this really is the one I am looking forward to. I think that this will be a great way for Kendrick Lamar to further his popularity and he will likely bring some big time lyrics, potentially outmatching everyone else in the cypher. A brief sneak peak can be seen below:

They have also announced a Ruff Ryders Cypher that features DMX, Eve, Cassidy and Murder Mook. That sneak peak can also be seen below:

From the rest of the lineup I am really excited to see Hopsin, Childish Gambino, Joey Bada$$ but really don't artists should have got the nod (we are looking at you Mac Miller).

Who do you guys think should have been included in the cyphers?

Game Kicked Out of Lil Wayne Birthday Party For Fight
Young Jeezy

More violence this week involving affiliates of Young Jeezy, as Game was kicked out of Lil Wayne's birthday party after an altercation with rapper 211.

TMZ reports that Game was hanging with Chris Brown, Sean Kingston, and Wayne, when rapper 211 walked up to Game and started talking trash. Allegedly, Game punched 211, and a fight broke out. Eventually, security broke up the fight, and kicked the rappers out of the party.

Again TMZ has released video of the altercation:

Release Dates & Album Updates
There have been some big news on releases this week, starting off with Lil Wayne revealing that his new album, I Am Not a Human Being II will be released on December 11th. However I would not hold my breath for that album, as we all know Young Money's issues with delivering albums on time, and it is likely that the album will not be released until mid 2013, based on the labels track record.

Kendrik Lamar has released the tracklisting to his latest album, good kid, m.A.A.d city which is dropping on October 22. After seeing the track listing I am somewhat concerned for the release. Mainly the fact that it seems somewhat short, and that it features Drake….

1. Sherane a.k.a Master Splinter's Daughter
2. Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe
3. Backseat Freestyle
4. The Art of Peer Pressure
5. Money Trees feat. Jay Rock
6. Poetic Justice feat. Drake
7. good kid
8. m.A.A.d city feat. MC Eiht
9. Swimming Pools (Drank) [Extended Version]
10. Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst
11. Real feat. Anna Wise
12. Compton feat. Dr. Dre

13. The Recipe feat. Dr. Dre
14. Black Boy Fly
15. Now or Never feat. Mary J. Blige
16. Collect Calls
17. Swimming Pools (Drank)

Tech N9ne has officially announced that he will release a new EP on October 30, something that he broke to 411mania exclusively in his interview with us 2 weeks ago. The album will be called Boiling Point and will feature the more darker songs off his E.B.A.H. recording sessions. I think that Tech N9ne has been striking while the iron is hot, but he needs to really consider taking a break from releasing music. He is on the verge of being overexposed as it seems he releases a new EP, collabs or LP every 2 months, and if he continues that way he may find himself losing fans instead of gaining them.

Lastly E-40 dropped news that he again is planning to release 3 more albums, The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 4, 5 & 6, all releasing on March 26, 2013. E-40 seems to have found his niche in the hip hop world, releasing material for his fans in large bunches about once a year.
