Loads of new Guns N' Roses news, upcoming releases from Avril Lavigne, Pearl Jam and Velvet Revolver, 80s metal bands on tour and the cream of European festivals.

Guns N' Roses News
The latest Guns N' Roses concert to be announced is on June 15 in Warsaw, Poland. I'm sure all of the T-Bomber's Polish fans will be rocking up to that one. Their European tour now looks a little something like this:

Jon Bon Jovi is disgusted at the amount of publicity GnR frontman Axl Rose is receiving, according to the New York Post. Sez Bon Joverz, "You know what pisses me off? I was reading this British rock magazine this month and there was a story about Axl Rose and the $13 million Guns N' Roses record that was never made. That motherfucker hasn't made a record in 13 years and he gets all that attention. You know what I've done in 13 years? A lot. But they have continued to write about the freak show aspect of him. Because he's a recluse. That makes him interesting, right?" Lol. He said motherfucker. Seriously, how often does Bon Joverz bust out the f-bomb?
Queen guitarist Brian May has confirmed that he plays guitar on the recently leaked Guns N' Roses track, 'Catcher in the Rye'. Sez Brian, "'Catcher in the Rye' is a great track .. I was pretty surprised to find a mix of it in my inbox this week .... after all these years. I wonder who leaked this stuff. Yes, my guitar is there, nice and crisply recorded. It was a blast doing the sessions. I had flown out to L.A. specially to play on the record for Axl. I've sat on whatever I have or know about these songs ever since that moment .... out of respect for Axl .... Confidentiality is part of respect for me. So I will watch with interest. I like the track a lot and always did ... and it still sounds very fresh ... The thing that hits you first is that incredible, incredible voice ... We've been missing it for far too long. Axl is magic." Sounds very promising. I have yet to hear the track.
According to David Lingquist of the Indianapolis Star, Axl recently caught The Big Damn Band in action at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood. A member of the band, Jayme Peyton, met Rose and had a fair chat with him. Apparently Axl told Peyton that upcoming album Chinese Democracy will be a 3 CD set. If that happens I will crap my pants so hard, T-Fanz. Sez Peyton, "He still has the 'Axl voice. He was in the bus singing along. I couldn't believe it was still Axl's voice, all these years later."
Other News
Great news, T-Fanz! The new album of Avril Lavigne has been given a tentative release date of November this year. Her new live DVD has an equally tentative date of July 4th. The DVD will feature footage of Avril in concert at the Hammersmith in London.
A 15 second snippet of the new Pearl Jam single, 'World Wide Suicide', can be heard here. Their new album is scheduled for release on May 2. According to frontman Eddie Vedder, "It's easily the best stuff we've done but also some of the hardest stuff. It's very aggressive, because again, it's kind of a product of what it's like to be an American these days. It's pretty aggressive, especially when you turn it loud."
Despite announcing a whole bunch of gigs in Europe and South Africa this summer, sources close to Metallica say they won't be playing any concerts in the U.S. The band will enter the studio in July with Rick Rubin to record their ninth album.
Duff McKagan of Velvet Revolver has been discussing their upcoming album. "I think a lot's been said, but when it comes down to it we have to make the best record all of us collectively, and separately, ever made. Now we know who each other are and who we are as a band. The first record was really just us coming together and being straight in the studio, but now it's gonna be deeper and bigger and all that. Concept record? I don't know, but it's gonna be killer."
80s hard rock acts Cinderella and Poison will be touring together this summer to celebrate the 20th anniversary of respective albums "Nightsongs" and "Look What The Cat Dragged In". A new studio album and a live CD from Cinderella are expected to be released this year.
