Prelude to the News
Welcome to another sexy edition of All You Cannot Live Without. I'm your host for the new few minutes of your life. So, relax, get comfortable, get some pie, maybe and some milk. Get a fresh pack of ciggies, and get ready for an orgasm-slam of news.
Here's a shout-out to all you NIN fans who went to the Chicago show a few weeks ago. I hope you all enjoyed the concert, but you boys and gals got a little antsy in your pant-sy when you were smokin' your wacky tabbacky at the show.
I know Denny's is a crazy cool place to hang out after the show, but was it necessary to rub feces all over the bathroom wall, piss everywhere, and bust the tail-lights of my buddy's car? I know it's an Avalon, but that's just fucking uncalled for.
Onward with the news of the week!

The Low Down on the Underground
Recently annoying their "comeback", Papa Roach titled their upcoming new album The Paramour Sessions. The disc will be released through Geffen on September 12. In addition to this lovely news, the band has also been confirmed to headline this falls edition of the Zippo Hot Tour, which will kick off in November.
Prepare to get yo' head bang on, foo'! Hatebreed are tentatively planning to gear up and hit the road with The Black Dahlia Murder, Napalm Death, Exodus, First Blood and Despised Icon this fall for a North American run. Dates and venues have yet to be revealed, but they should be shipping out early.
I don't understand why I keep caring about this band, but I guess old habits die hard. Kind of like why I suck my thumb at night when I'm alone. Anyway, Nonpoint, have announced that they will hit the road with Silent Civilian, Seemless and Ankla beginning in August. A full schedule will be announced shortly.
Bloodsimple will be hitting the studio again this week to finish up writing new material for their next album. While much of the lyrics and music have been written on the road, they hope to begin recording in August. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Oh, and here's a shocking piece of news. Disturbed has done a politically charged music video. Shocking, I know. David and company have released the video for their cover of Genesis' "Land Of Confusion" has been made available online. The animated clip was overseen by Todd McFarlane of "Spawn" fame, who also did the cover art for 10,000 Fists.
Killswitch Engage will be playing a one-off show at the Cabot Street Pub in Chicopee, MA on July 12. The band, have been keeping relatively quiet this year to focus on new material and currently have the following shows booked:
July 14th Mansfield, MA - Tweeter Center ("Sounds Of The Underground Tour")
August 25th Leeds, UK - Leeds Festival
August 27th Reading, UK - Reading Festival
September 29th Anchorage, AK - William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center
We're expecting to see a yet untitled release from these guys on November 7.
New Mastodon material is set to feature a whole slew of guest vocalists. Oh joy! The first single and new track, dubbed "Crystal Skull", has been posted online. The song, which features guest vocals from Scott Kelly of Neurosis, will appear on Mastodon's new album Blood Mountain, which has been scheduled for a September 12 release date through Warner. Meanwhile, a limited edition 7" for the aforementioned track will be released through Relapse on August 8. Queens Of The Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme will be guesting on "Colony Of Birchman". Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler Zavala will make a guest appearance on the album, as well.
Furthermore, since I mentioned QOTSA, Homme also penned a new track entitled "I Made You" which will appear in the upcoming film "The Dog Problem". The band will be secretly reuniting sometime in the near future to work on some new stuff, which means that Homme's thousand side projects probably will drift away for now is eminent. Anyway, they expect to have something in the early spring.

Rambles Amy Lee: "I think if people expect this album is going to be softer and more feminine and more wimpy, they're going to be surprised. It's not an album full of 'My Immortal'-like songs. Every song is completely different and I feel like at times it definitely goes heavier than we had the capacity to do before. But in a way that's still new and fun and unique and not trying to be like anything else that's out there."
"I don't know if Ben and I ever wrote a song together. It was always, I would write and he would write and then we would bring our ideas together. But the writing process with Terry was really, really great and different. We would just sit in a room and make demos. We'd work together and talk to each other and encourage one another. This whole writing together thing is good for me. I needed Terry to make it happen the way it did. I trust him and we trust each other to just try whatever."
The first single, "Call Me When You're Sober", will impact radio on August 7.
Dark new Day will premier the video for "Follow the Sun Down" at Rehearsals.com later this week on the 13th. The band was supposed to be featured in an ABC World News Tonight segment this past Sunday (July 9), but as it turns out, that didn't go through. This is what the band had to say:
"We just got the email that told us this new info. So for those who watched it and didn't see us now you know the reason why. Sorry about that we will let you know the new date that it will be aired. The good thing is that we get a little more than a days notice to tell people when to watch. Thanks for being understanding and we will let you know the date soon as we know."
An acoustic EP entitled Black Porch will arrive in stores later this summer.
Ra is close to inking a deal to release a new live album which will also include 2 or 3 new tracks in addition to 10 live tracks recorded at The Machine Shop in Flint, MI in March 2006. Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has said fans will have to wait at least two years before hearing a new album from the nine-piece Iowa outfit. In an interview, Taylor said he was currently concentrating on Stone Sour (also featuring guitarist Jim Root) but that some of the other members were already getting together and "messing around on stuff." Taylor did, however, say they were planning something a real "comeback" when the album is released. Slipknot is currently working on its next DVD release, the follow-up to its 2002 DVD, Disasterpieces. "It's going to be different than our last one," guitarist Mick Thomson recently said. "Our last one mostly focused on the concert, and this one is going to have a lot more personal stuff on it. You get to see more stupid shit. There'll be some music and stuff, but you're getting to see what our days our like. It should be a lot more fun."
Despite repeated assurances that their forthcoming "hiatus" is not a break-up, System of a Down reportedly acted like a band on the brink at the opening day of this summer's Ozzfest. The band arrived at the venue in separate tour buses. Guitarist Daron Malakian "seemed to be struggling to keep up with the rest of the band" and improvised lyrics during the first few songs of their performance. During the song "Lonely Day", while looking at vocalist Serj Tankian, Malakian crooned, "Such a lonely day, hanging out with the band/ This motherfucker, I can't stand." Pretty creative, eh?
Malakian is currently assembling a new group called Scars on Broadway and plans to record its debut album this fall. SOAD bassist Shavo Odadjian may participate and is also planning a collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan. Singer Serj Tankian will most likely continue to sign and develop artists on his own label, Serjical Strike, while drummer John Dolmayan is planning to launch an online comic book company.

Closing Point of Interest
A British film crew reportedly rapped up shooting a documentary in Seattle about Nirvana and the rise and fall of Aberdeen's most famous rocker, the late and very dead Kurt Cobain. The documentary, sponsored by the British Broadcasting Corp., purports to "demythologize" Cobain, the film's director said.
"The reason the BBC wants to do something is because Nirvana was almost a bigger band in Europe and England before they were in America," said writer and director John Dower. "The problem is that no one in our country has made a good film" about Nirvana or Cobain. Has anyone?
British director Nick Broomfield did take a stab at a film in 1998, "Kurt & Courtney", but it's less about Nirvana and more about the director verbally assaulting Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, on film. People really do need to do more of that. Seriously, she's not a good human being.
Dower said his take on Nirvana will be a "straight-forward film" and mainly focus on the band's roots until the band's smash hit, 1991's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", emerged.
Hey, maybe this will bring back grunge and all those flannels my mom bought me 10 years ago might become popular to wear, but that might piss off all the truckers out there. No offense, though, if you're reading this and are also a trucker. I respect your job and I appreciate you delivering my apples every week. God Bless.
