Rock News For All You Newbs

Disturbed have chosen the track "Inside The Fire" to serve as the first single from their upcoming new album Indestructible. In the meantime, a clip of the bands new track "Perfect Insanity" can be found online here. It has the sound of a typical Disturbed track. It's nothing groundbreaking, but fans should love it.

Slipknot have set August 12th as the tentative release date for their as-yet-untitled new studio album. Recording of the album took place earlier this month with producer Dave Fortman (Mudvayne, Evanescence).

All Shall Perish are currently finishing up writing new material for their new album which they plan to begin tracking in April.

Former Bush front-man Gavin Rossdale's solo debut Wanderlust is set for an April 8 release.

Muse have announced that they will release a live CD/DVD compilation titled HAARP on April 1st. The package features 18 performances on the DVD, 13 songs on the CD, as well as behind-the-scenes footage. Check out the track listing here.

From Autumn To Ashes are nearly set to release their limited live offering culled from an in-store performance they played in January of this year. Below is the final track list for the CD

1) Pioneers
2) Milligram Smile
3) Cherry Kiss
4) Everything I Need
5) Deth Kult Social Club
6) ------------------------
7) Royal Crown vs. Blue Duchess
8) No Trivia
9) Recounts And Recollections
10) Alive Out Of Habit
11) The After Dinner Payback

The disc was originally slated to include "Sugar Wolf" and "Take Her To The Music Store", but due to a computer glitch, those songs were not recorded. The album will be mastered soon.

Funeral For A Friend have entered the studio to begin the initial sessions for their new album which is being produced by Romesh Dodangoda (The Blackout, Kids In Glass Houses). The band had originally hoped to record an EP prior but have since moved ahead with plans to record a full-length album over two separate recording sessions for a September release. Colin Richardson (Sepultura, Machine Head) has been brought onboard to mix.

Team Sleep (Deftones, Hella) have decided to cut some ties and in turn have parted ways with their label. Deftones will be recording their new album Eros very soon.

As I Lay Dying guitarist Nick Hipa was hit in the head by an empty bottle onstage while performing Australia last weekend. Ouch to that.

Walls Of Jericho are reportedly eyeing an April 8 release date for their new CD Redemption. The acoustic-themed effort was produced and features guest appearances by Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour fame.

Ipecac Records have revealed that Mike Patton of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, etc. fame has started a new project with Dan The Automator dubbed Crudo. Here's what they had to say about it:

"...wanted to let you know that there is a new Patton project that is about to show it's face. Yeah, another one. Seems that Mike and Dan the Automator have been cooking up some music and after a little marinating are about to reveal........ CRUDO. Not much is known about Crudo, but we know this, they will be playing the super cool music festival, Sasquatch, at the end of May in the state of Washington at the Gorge."

The Acacia Strain are making progress with their next album, they had the following to say about it:

"Little update - New record is more than half way done! We will be touring in June, so keep an eye out, we will be playing new material! Vincent is trying to get into the studio this week to re-record the vocals for the new song we want to put up. DL wanted it to be awesome before it went out to all of you so it is taking a little more time than we wanted. New record should be out around September sometime....please pass this along to all your friends and let them know....we need all of your support!"

Terror bassist Jonathan Buske recently checked in with the following update on the band's forthcoming new album:

Just checking in to let you all know that the new record is DONE!!! We finished tracking and doing vocals a few days ago and have been working with Zeuss on mixes for the past few days. Like every band says about their newest shit, it's without a doubt the best and hardest Terror record to date. Expect some new Terror flavor, some of the old and some unexpected flavor. We can't wait for you all to hear it!!
We take off in a few days on the Firestorm Fest tour, so be sure to check out the dates for that on our page. You can purchase tickets for every show on that tour from the link above as well. Following that, we are doing the legendary Superbowl Of Hardcore in NYC, shooting a couple videos with our bros at Space Monkey Studios, then taking off to Europe to do a run with Ignite, Strung Out and Death Before Dishonor... then hitting up South America for a week or so. So, be sure to check the dates... we have a ton of stuff coming up.

The group is rumored to have signed a deal with Century Media for the release of the new album.

Deron Miller of CKY fame has posted some updates on his current happenings. In regards to the fallout with CKY which took place late last year, he had the following to say:

"i'm still waiting on some news myself. when i say i know NOTHING, that means i really know...nothing. i have not heard from anyone at all since that st. lois show when that shit went down. i have tried to get in touch with those guys but they are not ready to speak to me as they are still understandably pissed off at me. its frustrating for everyone but for me it especially sucks because i am no longer that person that caused that trouble. in any event i hope we can finally finish the masterpiece that we started and get out touring again. thats all i can say."

In the meantime, he continues to work on his death metal project World Under Blood, on which he stated:

the time has come to head back into the studio in early april and lay down 4 new WUB tracks. the 4 of us are really amped on the last song i wrote, i think it'll end up being the best one i've ever written in my life. there's also one thats pretty fast, in fact i'm thinking maybe its a bit too fast...which means its perfect. we're also going to do some covers...the definite one we're doing is megadeth's "wake up dead" which we all agree to be one of the best metal songs of all time.
to be honest, this wasnt the BIG news...but you'll know soon enough.

Daath have officially recruited Sean Z. as their new frontman. He previously filled in for the band on vocals during their late fall '07 tour with Dark Funeral. At present the group was slated to enter Florida's Audio Hammer Studios on March 1 to begin recording their new album The Concealers with producer Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chimaira). A release through Roadrunner later this year is expected.

Coldplay have decided to stick with EMI/Capitol for the release of their new album which is currently being mixed. The as-yet-untitled album is due out this summer.

The release date for Def Leppard's new album Songs from the Sparkle Lounge has been changed once again. The album is now set for an April 29 date instead of the previously announced May 6 date.

The Foo Fighters have already begun working on new music for their next studio album which will likely hit stores in mid-2009.

Faktion have released a new EP entitled Ignite What's Inside available for purchase on their MySpace page via SnoCap. Each track from the 4-song EP can also be previewed on MySpace. The EP will be available on all other online digital stores in 6 weeks. The band has just finished recording three more demos which should be released in the next two weeks and will travel to Florida to record another EP with Dark new Day front-man Brett Hestla next week.
