From A Second Story Window's new album Conversations has been set for a May 27 release date. A song from the effort will make its way online shortly.
The All-American Rejects have hit the studio to begin recording their third full length album tentatively titled Remember Us?. The album is expected to hit stores sometime this Summer.
Original master recordings of Serj Tankian's solo track "Beethoven's Cunt" and Black Tide's "Shockwave" will both be made available this week as premium downloadable content for the multi-platform videogame "Rock Band".
The Acacia Strain have nearly completed writing new material for their next album and plan to enter the studio in the near future to begin recording it. The group is eyeing a September release date for the outing. In other news, the band will embark on a U.S. run in June followed by a July 11th-August 04th European run with Annotations Of An Autopsy and Knights Of The Abyss. Full schedules for both treks are currently pending.
Protest The Hero have pulled out of their current U.S. run with Silverstein, band frontman Rody Walker has issued the following statement on the matter:
"It is my unfortunate duty to inform you all that we will not be continuing on the Silverstein tour. While on tour recently, we realized our internal structure was built on a whimsical foundation. We have become a disorganized touring band, and it's left the five of us exhausted and miserable. Ergo, we are revamping, whipping our team into shape, polishing our rims, straightening our brims, and making a stab at semi-professionalism. Though dropping a tour may seem like a very unprofessional thing to do, we need this time to get our shit back on track."
The band will resume touring on April 1.
Journey's new studio three-disc album Revelation will arrive in a Wal-Mart store near you on June 3. The first disc in the collection includes eleven re-recorded classics with the second disc featuring eleven new tracks while the third includes a live DVD. The DVD was recorded during their March 8 concert in Las Vegas. The album is being distributed exclusively through Wal-Mart.
Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta has been working in his home recording studio on his forthcoming solo project as of late. Speaking on the sessions, Jasta had the following to say:
"I am in such a great space creatively, these days. I have been writing profusely on my solo material. I don't have a release date in mind for this project, but my studio work is certainly sharpening my vocal and writing skills for the next Hatebreed studio album which is going to be completely next level!"
Jasta will be performing a 'solo' show with Phantoms serving as his backing band at the Red 7 in Austin, TX on March 15th. Hatebreed will be filming their March 29th show at Harpo's in Detroit, MI for the bands long-awaited live DVD effort.
Rumors have begun to pick up steam of Shadows Fall leaving Atlantic Records and returning to their former label home of Century Media. No official word has been released on the matter as of yet. The band's latest effort Threads Of Life has sold roughly around 90,000 copies in the U.S. to date.
While still recovering from various injuries suffered, the members of From Autumn To Ashes have begun work on new material. Here's what the band had to say:
The good news is Jeff's foot is out of it's cast and he's ready to start building up to playing again (the band is meeting to work on new songs today!) The bad news is Brian's foot is now in an air-cast after hurting it on stage in Austrailia. (can't win, for about 4 days 2 out of the 5 members of the band had a foot in a cast). The even better news is after not having one for over a year, the band now has an official website. you can check it out at www.fromautumntoashes.org . It's still a work in progress and we built and are maintaining it ourselves. So what you lose in trinkets and bobbles will be made up for in steady up-to-the-minute updates when there is news to know. As we're working on the record we'll be sure to keep it updated with photos, videos, journals, all that good stuff.
Bullet For My Valentine will be releasing a single for their track "Hearts Burst Into Fire" overseas on March 31st. The outing will be released in both CD and 7" formats and will sport the following track listings:
CD:
01 - "Hearts Burst Into Fire"
02 - "Hearts Burst Into Fire" (Acoustic)
7 ":
01 - "Hearts Burst Into Fire"
02 - "No Easy Way Out"
Rumor and speculation runs wild as a deleted blog from Dark new Day drummer Will Hunt stated that the band had called it quits. If true, the end of the band is apparently due to their label, Warner Bros., not being able to make a timely decision on the band and the release of their new studio album. The album has been completed and is/was expected to be released this year.
In its first week of release, the new Nine Inch Nails instrumental album Ghosts I-IV had nearly 800,000, which includes free and paid downloads as well as orders for the physical copy, resulting in $1.6 million USD. Reznor is refusing to release the statistics to SoundScan, which helps to compile all of the Billboard rankings.
Warning: Touring Updates May Lead To Spontaneous Moshing
