Rock News For All You Newbs

After reuniting with Paul Rodgers (lead singer for Bad Company) on vocals, Queen will release a new album for the first time in over a decade. Rolling Stone reports the band is aiming to release the record on September 1, with a fall tour to follow.

Apple is reportedly negotiating with the big four record labels for a subscription based service. The deal would make iTunes entire music library available on users iPod and iPhone devices for a monthly fee, or a premium of up to $100 for the lifetime of the device. In return the record labels would get a cut from the sale of iPod's and iPhone's.

My Chemical Romance's upcoming three disc CD/DVD The Black Parade is Dead has been delayed and will now see a June 24 release.

Senses Fail will hit the studio on April 1 with producer Brain McTernan (Thrice, doubleDrive) to begin work on their new studio album. A September release is planned.

Nine Inch Nails have launched a YouTube channel that will host a film festival of fan-made movies that feature tracks from his new instrumental album, Ghosts I-IV. Trent Reznor will judge the competition, along with "special guests." Fans can upload their videos onto the YouTube page now.

Motley Crue's upcoming album The Dirt is being produced by Sixx A.M. front-man James Michael. The band will be making a "huge" announcement, likely regarding their summer tour, on April 15th. Motley Crue's announcement is rumored to be regarding a summer tour dubbed "Cruefest" with Buckcherry, Papa Roach and Drowning Pool. More info to follow. The Dirt is due out on July 8th.

Roadrunner Records will be reissuing Life Of Agony's River Runs Red on April 29. The new version of the album will feature the following bonus songs tacked onto the albums original track listing:

14 - "Here I Am, Here I Stay"
15 - "Depression"
16 - "3 Companions"
17 - "Plexiglass Gate"

In addition, the reissued effort will come with a bonus DVD containing the following footage:

01 - "Through And Through" (video)
02 - "This Time" (video)
03 - "Through And Through" (Live at Dynamo Open Air Festival '95)
04 - "River Runs Red" (Live at Dynamo Open Air Festival '95)

The Fall Of Troy are offering an exclusive companion DVD to their latest album Manipulator at select independent retail outlets,

Turmoil is planning a June 24 release date for their new album The International Language Of....

Misery Signals are putting the final touches on the mix for their as-yet untitled new album which will see a release in the coming months. The band recorded ten songs for the effort, which was produced and mixed by Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad fame.

Work is progressing on Candiria's forthcoming remix album with the following artists onboard for the project:

Producer Brian Virtue (30 Seconds To Mars, HORSE the band) has started a new forward thinking label-styled collective dubbed Modernist Movement. The first two signings to the venture are Look What I Did and Born Empty.

Black Light Burns have for the most part completed work on their upcoming covers effort Cover Your Heart. Wes Borland had the following to say about this and their movie:

Cover Your Heart is done. The editing on Anvil Pants (our movie) is done. The remixes are in and, like the Voltron Lions, are being assembled into a massive cartoon killing machine known as Cover Your Heart and The Anvil Pants Odyssey. We know the name is stupid, but so are we and so are you, so get over yourselves. The brand new Mesopotamia Assyrian Mix by Mighty Ancient Tongue (Scott Borland and Kyle Weeks) is up on the page. Look out for the full release this coming summer. Also, it looks like Cruel Melody is finally coming out in Europe and Japan this summer, Holy Matmos! That took forever and a year huh? Anyway, I gotta get back into the studio where we're working on the next full length "real album". Also, I'm not in Munky from Korn's new band. I played on 2 songs, and am doing the artwork, but I'm not in the band and apparently there was a press release that I was told made it sound like I'm a member. The only band I'm in is Black Light Burns. Kapeesh? –Wes

More details have been revealed for Atreyu's upcoming Lead Sails Paper Anchor 2.0 CD/DVD bonus reissue. In addition to new packaging, the effort will feature a new track dubbed "The Squeeze" which the band recorded exclusive for the effort, plus covers of Faith No More's "Epic" and The Descendents' "Clean Sheets". Ten exclusive videos, including 3 live performances, five individual band profiles, two behind the scenes touring clips and a guitar lesson will round out the effort. The new version of the album will see an April 22 release date.

Linkin Park recently filmed a video for their track "Leave Out All The Rest" with band DJ Joseph Hahn directing. In addition, the group has confirmed that they plan to launch another "Projekt Revolution" tour this year with a mid-July kick off date, though a line-up has yet to be cemented for the trek. Furthermore, the previously rumored U.K. leg with Jay-Z has also now been confirmed.

A previously unreleased track from Lynyrd Skynyrd which features the band's original line-up, is expected to be included on the band's next studio album which is due out early next year. Hey, It says in the tittle of the article that there are details of a new track from led zeppelin, yet there are no details in the article itself. Whats the Deal?

I'll will get ready for that new Led Zeppelin track,it sure would have been nice to read something about it in this article.I think I'll be living without this substandard column in the future.

I think he meant Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not quite as sexy.

Black Light Burns are covering one of my favorite Sisters of Mercy songs. I don't like that. And it's been covered before. I haven't heard one good Sisters cover. Cradle of Filth's cover of "No Time To Cry" is probably the closest to being somewhat decent.
