The Stooges robbed, Baltitour, Yo La Tengo on film, Beach House, Fleet Foxes and more.
The bit at the start
I fucking hate gear thieves.
They're worse than AIDS.
And I hope that the fuckers who stole this load of stuff off of The Stooges in Montreal get their knees smashed …

Motherfuckers. Anyway, if you live around Montreal and on the off chance you see anything like the above going cheap … you know what to do.
Mike Watt's bass in particular is very distinctive

Built To Spill – Perfect From Now On
I may just see them play it twice in November.
You news, you lose
Cool.
I really don't think anyone toys with the idea of what's possible to be done with the parameters of a live music arena more than Dan Deacon. The Baltimore absurdist composer/single funnest live music experience you can have typically sets up on the floor with the crowd surrounding him and what follows is usually a heaving, sweaty orgy of dance offs and children's party games.
So it's unsurprising that when Deacon came up with the idea of a travelling cavalcade of local B-more bands he'd come up with an interesting concept for the shows. That concept being that of a "Round Robin." What will happen is that the bands will all setup along the perimeter of the room with the crowd in the middle. The first band will then play a song, then the next band will play a song, and so on and so on.
As for the tour itself, it will feature 29 bands split into 3 different groupings, "Eyes Night," "Feet Night" and "Weird Round". The 14 night tour takes place in 7 cities with the gigs alternating between Eyes Night and Feet Night with the Weird Round bands alternating and fitting in on various nights.
By the way, here's the bands that are on the tour …

House On The Beach.
I loves 7"s and Beach House will be releasing their debut one in October. The 21st of that month will see the duo release "Used To Be" on Carpark and the b-side will be a 4-track demo of "Apple Orchard" from their debut album.
So that's nice.
Speedy Foxes.
Current Fleet Foxes drummer J Tillman recently issued all 4 of his previous albums digitally for the first time. Tillman is currently getting set to tour the US with Fleet Foxes as they start an opening tour with Wilco next week but his current set of solo dates seem to be when he'll open for as well as play with Fleet Foxes in their October UK and Ireland tour.
He's also currently working on his 5th album Vacilando Territory Blues.
