So, how good could a 90's band be in 2002?
While LIVE hasn't exactly been on the mainstream music within the past few years, they still have been touring around the world in support of thier latest album, V. LIVE made a stop in thier unoffical hometown area, The Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania for the annual Musikfest in August for closing weekend. This years Musikfest being one of the biggest to date with, not only LIVE, but Lifehouse, Hootie & The Blowfish, Shaggy, The Guess Who & Kansas.
LIVE started out, much like their opening for V, with "Simple Creed", but much of the crowd really didn't get into the music until "All Over You". They ended up playing of for over 2 hours, nailing all the old hits like "Dolphin's Cry," "Lighting Crashes," & "Likini's Juice." They also played my favorite songs from V, "Deep Enough" & "Transmit Your Love."
Leadman, Ed Kowalczyk, loved the fact that he was back in the Valley. He has shaved his head again (which he grew out before the release of V), but kept a pony tail! New members of the band include Michael Railo on Keyboards and Ed's own brother, Adam Kowalczyk on the Rhythem Guitar.
It would be bias to say that the show was awesome, seeing as LIVE is my favorite band period, but the show F-ing ROCKED! They ended the show with "White, Discussion," waited out a few moments for the Live Cable TV Coverage to be over, then they came back out with Throwing Copper classic "Shit Town," and ended the show with my personal favorite song ever, "I Alone."
Overall, this was the best rock concert I've ever been to, but to be honest, this was the first concert I have gone to :) Jimmy's Chicken Shack opened the show, but I missed it. A friend said that they were as good as could be expect, whatever that means.
The 411: LIVE played everything I wanted to hear, and supported thier album well
