The Who, Etta James Preserved By The US Library Of Congress

The US Library of Congress has announced 25 new recordings to be preserved in its National Recording Registry. Criteria for inclusion requires recordings to be at least 10 years old and "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant".

Among this year's entries are:

John Lee Hooker - "Boogie Chillen"
Link Wray - "Rumble"
The Who - The Who Sings My Generation
Etta James - At Last!
West Side Story (Original Cast Recording)
The Kingston Trio - "Tom Dooley"
George Jones - "He Stopped Loving Her Today"

Strange to see the Who on there, thought it was supposed to be recordings for American culture, and the Who were pretty defiantly British. Brilliant album though.

And it is awesome to see the Link Wray love.
