Word On The Next Unkle Cracker Album

Long-delayed Happy Hour finally hitting stores...
Uncle Kracker will release his new album Happy Hour on September 15th. It's his first in five years.
The first single is "Smile," "probably the most positive song I've ever written," Kracker says. Former bandmate Kid Rock appears on the album as producer on one track.
"It's a pop-rock record, still with a little country [and] soul fused through it - not a big departure from anything I've done before," Kracker says. "There's more uptempo than there is on my last three records. I'm pretty stoked about it."
Kracker says he recorded a completely different version of Happy Hour three years ago, but "wasn't really convinced that I had the right record." Kracker scrapped that album and went in fresh with a new producer.
Kracker calls the tone of the album "pretty positive in light of everything that's going on in the world...I made a conscious decision to try something positive. It's what I needed. it's a positive spin on everything."
The rapper plans to tour on the album, and believes his fans will forgive the long hiatus. "I know the people that are there are still there. You just always hope to pick up a few more along the way. It doesn't concern me much, really - not as much as it may concern other people, I guess."
