David Archuleta's Dad Busted In Prostitution Raid

"American Idol" dad was just there for a back massage, honest...

The father of ex-"American Idol" standout David Archuleta was arrested at a massage parlor called Queens of Reiki in Midvale, Utah a few months ago. He was charged with prostitute solicitation, a Class B misdemeanor.

Jeff Archuleta pleaded no contest to the charge, and paid a $582 fine.

Police were notified by a doctor's office in the same building that something was up at the parlor when staff noticed the masseuses wearing very flimsy outfits. The police sent in undercover officers to investigate for five days before making the bust. Archuleta was the only client at the time of the raid.

"He was just finishing up in suite number one," said a police spokesman. "I sent two of the officers in and the male was on his stomach on the table with a masseuse in lace underwear. At that time, an interview ensued and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the masseuse."

Archuleta's lawyer claims he was getting legitimate massage therapy for his back at the time of the sting, and that no sexual contact had occurred.

Archuleta said he found the massage parlor via Craigslist.

Jeff was very involved in last season's "Idol", helping steer his son's song choices. He suggested David add a line from Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" to a performance of "Stand By Me", which upped the show's licensing costs. After that, he was banned from backstage. The Archuletas are Mormon and David was presented with a squeaky-clean image on the show.
