Mase Making Another Comeback
Posted by Ashish on 07.01.2009

Mase confirmed during an appearance on New York's Power 105.1 that he is making a comeback. The station aired a remix of Drake's "Best I Ever Had" featuring Mase, his first new track in five years. Mase said that the recent death of Michael Jackson inspired him to return.

"Mike passed away and it just lit the fire in me -- it made me go in the studio and do something. I'm excited," he said. "I asked my nephew who is the hottest thing out there and he said "Drake!' When I listened to his music I said, 'I'm going to jump on this joint.'"

Mase's first album, Harlem World, was a big hit with 3.3 million copies sold. His other two albums, 1999's Double Up and 2004's Welcome Back, didn't do as well with 425,000 and 559,000 copies sold.

I really hate to do this, but nobody gives a damn about Mason Betha anymore.

Seriously, he killed his own career by signing with G-Unit.

Wow, Mase was awful. He sounded like a poor man's Puff Daddy. The sad thing is....Puff Daddy was always a shitty rapper too.

i understand he feels he has a higher calling. he was on the verge of becoming huge. he killed all that momentum. his rap career is good as dead.
