Latest Michael Jackson News: Jackson Album Sales Still Surging, New Details On Memorial, $25,000 Casket Ordered
Posted by Ashish on 07.03.2009

- It has now been confirmed by the Jackson family and AEG that a memorial service for Michael Jackson will take place at the Staples Center in LA on Tuesday at 10AM. 11,000 tickets will be given out free of charge to the general public. A press conference later today will provide more details. [Credit: TMZ.com]

- A $25,000 casket has been ordered for Michael Jackson. The "Promethean" casket is solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, and features a flame blue velvet interior and a hand-polished mirror finish. James Brown was buried in the same casket which is said to be very rare. [Credit: TMZ.com]

- Michael Jackson is off to another big start in terms of album sales this week. His albums sold over 110,000 copies during the first two days of the week (June 29th and 30th), with Thriller leading the way followed by Number Ones and The Essential Michael Jackson. At this point, it looks like Thriller will be the #1 selling album of the week. Jackson's Number Ones was the highest selling album last week. [Credit: Billboard.com
