Michael Jackson's Former Doctor Was Reprimanded For Writing Fraudulent Prescriptions To Janet
Posted by Ashish on 07.04.2009

Dr. Allan Metzger, a doctor who treated Michael Jackson for many years, toured with him, and videotaped the pop star's wedding to Debbie Rowe, was reprimanded by the Medical Board in September 2000 for writing fraudulent prescriptions to Michael's sister, Janet Jackson. The later stated the following...

"You engaged in fraudulent medical practice based on prescriptions written for an international entertainer, using a false/fictitious name."

The doctor wrote prescriptions for Janet for diuretics as well as a hepatitis B injection that Janet wanted as a way to avoid the disease on tour. The doc wrote the prescriptions to an alias, Ricardo Macchi, who was actually Janet. The doc said that he did this to protect Janet's identity.

Dr. Metzger is a lupus specialist and Michael Jackson apparently had the disease. He ended up traveling with Jackson during the 1996 HIStory tour but recently said that he hadn't treated Jackson in years.

"I have not treated Michael Jackson for many years," he said, though he did talk to Jackson in April. He says they discussed the tour, his kids, and nutrition. He also has denied any involvement in Jackson's death.

"I have nothing to do with this tragedy with Michael. I have not prescribed any medication in relation to what happened to him."

I don't think they can be charged if she actually needed the meds - I don't know that writing a script to an alias is against the law... is it?
