Michael Jackson's Doctor Stays Quiet On Whether He Administered Anesthesia
Posted by Ashish on 07.06.2009

The lawyer for Michael Jackson's doctor told TMZ that the doctor did not prescribe or administer OxyContin or Demerol to Michael Jackson the day he died, but would not say the same about whether the doctor gave Michael Jackson the powerful anesthesia drug Propofol that day.

"I have no statement on whether the Dr. prescribed or administered Propofol," Edward Chernoff, lawyer for Dr. Conrad Murray said. "We're confident whatever the doctor prescribed did not kill Michael Jackson."

This statement indicates that Dr. Murray did give Jackson Propofol on the day of Jackson's death since the lawyer outright denies that the doctor gave Jackson OxyContin or Demerol, but wouldn't do the same for Propofol.

Dr. Murray was originally interviewed by the LAPD last Saturday, and that interview led the LAPD to obtain a search warrant for Jackson's home, where they found Propofol. The LAPD and DEA are investigating how Propofol ended up in Jackson's house since the drug is not supposed to be administered to anyone outside of a hospital.
