Strange happenings from a strange man...
Nick Cave confessed to Rob Sheffield and RollingStone that pop stars Avril Lavigne and Kylie Minogue were huge inspirations while writing his latest novel The Death of Bunny Munro. Like most of his songs, the book tells the tale of a sick and twisted individual, who this time happens to be a traveling salesman.
"Bunny's obsessed with sex," Cave says. "Yet he's not actually that good at it." Cave revealed that Bunny, the title character, graphically fantasizes about both Lavigne and Minogue throughout the novel.
"There's a particular video for ‘Spinning Around' that captured the minds of all Britain for a year," Cave explains. "Kylie's hot pants were all the tabloids could talk about. I think she has to take a certain responsibility for this novel, by wearing those hot pants.
