Linkin Park's Chester Bennington Readying The Debut of His New Band
Posted by Jasper Jones on 09.19.2009

The debut album for Chester Bennington's side project, Dead By Sunrise, isn't due to drop until mid October, but Linkin Park's front man couldn't be more excited if it came out tomorrow. The lead off single, "Crawl Back In", has already hit radio, and the band is itching to play some live shows in support of the album, entitled Out of Ashes.

When asked about how he would split his time between Dead By Sunrise and the band that brought him to the dance, Bennington had this to say: "We'll make records when we can. I don't think people should expect to see an album every couple of years. I'm definitely not going to tell Linkin Park, 'Hey, can you guys take some time off so I can go work on Dead By Sunrise?' That's not gonna happen. But we definitely see this as something we'll continue to do. This isn't a one-time thing for us. Every five years or so I could imagine there'd be a Dead By Sunrise record."

Dead By Sunrise's debut album comes out October 13th, 2009. Meanwhile, Linkin Park is still in the studio working on their fourth album with legendary producer Rick Rubin. That album is slated for a mid-2010 release.

After hearing "Crawl Back In", I'm hoping that he NEVER spends time with Dead By Sunrise ever again.

I would say that Rick Rubin will ruin the new record's production like he did to Death Magnetic, but you can't ruin something that will already suck :)

And Rick Rubin is one of the greatest producers of all time, so perhaps Death Pathetic falls under your "can't ruin something that will already suck" argument.

The last 10 years of Metallica albums would certainly point to that.

Oh, look, nerds who can't let the death of Napster go.

Death Magnetic was great. Sorry, but it's a fact.

I really liked Death Magnetic. Even at a year old, I get pretty amped to hear it.

Isn't that right, James?

Well, if Dead By Sunrise are as crap as they were at Sonisphere, I'd rather they just be put down mercifully some time around now.

What does it matter? Minutes to Midnight was gutter trash, and as long as they keep making generic rock produced by Rick Rubin like that again, I won't be buying any new LP albums.
