Michael Jackson Nabs Five AMA Noms

Including Artist of the Year...
Despite being dead, Michale Jackson has been nominated for five American Music Awards including Artist of the Year. He'll be going up against Lady GaGa, Eminem, Kings of Leon, and Taylor Swift in the Artist of the Year category. Swift leads all with six nominations, Eminem nabbed four, and Beyonce, T.I., Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon, and Lady GaGa all scored three.
Confirmed performers for the show include Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas, and Adam Lambert.
Online voting is underway at http://www.ama.abc.com.
The show takes place in Los Angeles and airs November 22nd on ABC.

How can a guy who didn't do jack this year except die be Artist of the Year? Award shows are a joke anyway but this takes it to another level.

I believe the AMA's are based on radio play and sales, hence, since he dominated in both categories this year, he is nominated.

Expect Michael to win artist of the year, and then have Kanye West interrupt Janet's acceptance on Michael's behalf to say that Beyonce should have won it, despite not being nominated.
