Ex-Danzig Drummer Still Alive
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 10.30.2009

The death of Chuck Biscuits, the classic-era Danzig drummer who also played with Black Flag and Social Distortion, appears to have all been a part of an internet hoax.

Rumors started that Chuck died of lung cancer yesterday in a blog post, but now it appears that the poster was mistaken.

Blogger James Greene, Jr. thought he had been in communication with the reclusive drummer for the past five months and was told by Chuck's supposed wife that he had died. Now Greene is admitting that his sources were fake and part of an elaborate hoax.

"If this is all a big fat lie, I'm sorry, but I promise I was duped just as hard as you," Greene blogged today.

Joe Keithley, the forntman for Canadian punk outfit D.O.A. - for whom Biscuits also worked as drummer - has contacted Canadian press to say he spoke with Chuck after he heard the news and the man is, in fact, alive.

Chuck's brother, Bob Montgomery, has also spoken to press. "I'm amazed at how fast this went viral," Bob said, adding that no one had contacted the family to confirm reports of his brother's death. "I can't tell you what this did to Mom."

No official statement from Chuck Biscuits has been released on his status nor is it expected. His brother said he is currently living in Seattle.

I once got an email from Eerie Von.
