Black Sabbath Guitarist Recovering After Stem-Cell Treatment
Posted by Aaron Mayagoitia on 11.03.2009

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has said that he is feeling great after receiving stem-cell treatment on his right hand.

"I've already had the stem-cell treatment, so I've just got to wait now. It's been six weeks but it's feeling great," he told BBC News.

Iommi -- who lost two fingertips on his right hand after an accident in a factory when he was a teenager -- undertook the treatment earlier this year after suffering from joint problems.

He can still play the guitar even though the recovery process is still in progress, though he said at the Classic Rock Awards in London yesterday that he is best taking precautions such as having his arm in a sling.

"I'm just wearing this now because if people shake your hand I don't want to push it, I want to take it easy for a bit."
