Aerosmith Looking For A New Singer?
Posted by Aaron Mayagoitia on 11.06.2009

According to bassist Brad Whitford, Aerosmith is considering replacing Steven Tyler, the band's only vocalist to date.

The band's future has become uncertain over recent months, thanks to Tyler's falling offstage during a concert in Dakota in August. The band subsequently postponed a South American tour, and guitarist Joe Perry claimed that the singer has "got to get his act together" if the band wanted to keep on going.

Now it has come to holding meetings by the band in the next fortnight to discuss Tyler's spot in the band, according to a recent Classic Rock Magazine interview with Whitford.

"I'm not sure how good that would look, it would largely depend on who we could get and who would want to do it. That's big shoes to fill," he said.

"Nobody could replace Steven or imitate him – he's one of a kind. But if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?"

Steven Tyler's voice and lyrics are Aerosmith. He's the one I think of when you say Aerosmith. It's like saying let's just replace James Hetfield or Maynard. I just couldn't picture anyone else doing it.

The whole band is pushing 60 years +. They should all stop. It isn't just Steven getting injured. Not all bands can be The Stones. (who should also stop) Cmon boys, retire with some dignity intact. IF you replace Steven, It will be a coplete failure considering it would probably be with someone half the rest of the bands age. JUST STOP!

After all these years of giving there fans some of the greatest music ever. Aerosmith no doubt is America's greatest rock and roll band ever I am one of there biggest fans, YET I also agree with the majority of fans and/or non-fans, it is time. It is time for a farwell tour. End it now while your still regarded as a great band. Bow out with the legacy of AEROSMITH on a positive note.
