Director Robert Zemeckis trying to get the surviving Beatles involved...
Robert Zemeckis will be directing a remake of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, turning the 1968 film into a 3-D event for Disney.
Zemeckis is working on the script now, but is unsure of the surviving Beatles' involvement in the film.
"We haven't gotten the word yet on the two surviving Beatles, whether they're interested in doing it or not." Zemeckis hopes they will voice their respective characters in the film. In the original Submarine, voice actors were used for all four Beatle characters.
"I think Yellow Submarine is a perfect example of a movie that can be re-envisioned in the digital cinema and be absolutely beyond spectacular," Zemeckis said.
Right now, the movie is scheduled for a 2012 release.
