Promoter Defends Britney Spears
Posted by Aaron Mayagoitia on 11.10.2009

As previously reported, Australian Britney fans are upset she's been lip-syncing throughout her tour of the country, with the Aussie press calling her shows a "Mickey Mouse performance" and claiming that fans walked out of a Friday Perth show after a few songs because Spears was boring, stiff and did not interact with the audience.

Now Spears' promoter Paul Dainty has stepped up to defend the pop star saying the reports are overblown and that they have traumatized her.

"Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it," the promoter said to an Australian newspaper.

"She's a human being. I'm embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting."

Dainty reportedly said it was a total fabrication to suggest that fans had stormed out of the show as early as the third song. However, he did not deny the lip-syncing.

"It's been all over the internet for nine months," Dainty said about the allegations. "This show is about an incredible spectacle, which it is."

The audience has every right to be pissed. If I spend a ton of money to see my favorite singer in concert and they didn't actually sing for real, I wouldn't be too happy.

If I wanted to see them dance around and pantomime, I'd just stay home and watch their music videos on YouTube for free.

I wouldn't pay to see the show either, but the idiots who do know what they're getting. Everyone knows she lip syncs, and if they don't then they're retarded. They have no right to be pissed because they're getting exactly what was advertised, a "show," not a live musical performance.

I think shes trying too hard to be link P!nk, who, in all fairness, has talent and can sing live.

If only her boobs were a bit bigger, I'd hit it like a double cheeseburger.
