Busta Rhymes Says Music Industry Is Dying
Posted by Michael Melchor on 11.23.2009

Busta Rhymes says the music industry is "dying like cancer is killing it." He hopes to help fix that with his brand new effort, The Chemo.

"I called the album The Chemo because it seems like the industry and music overall is dying slowly," Busta told Billboard.com of the album, slated for an early 2010 release. "The cancer that's stricken the business is killing the music, not only from a business standpoint, but also the value of the content and the creativity behind it. I just want to start the first stage of chemotherapy treatment that needs to take place and hopefully inspire others to do their part and contribute to different stages of the cure."

Busta does recognize those who are taking a stand against the "dying industry" by putting out "great music," stating, "Jay-Z put out an incredible album this year and Lil Wayne put out an incredible album last year." Others he commends include Jadakiss, Drake and Trey Songz.

Busta says music is dying, yet he had auto-tune on his last album.

Busta's first 3 albums were awesome. Since then...

Good call on the first 3 albums, Joe, but I would include Big Bang as well. Hopefully, the Chemo is a return to at least that form.

B.O.M.B. was just that, a bomb. I was extremely disappointed when I heard even the 30-second samples of that album. But, what was really funny was that the mixtape that he released for free with that album (I BS U NOT) was actually decent.
