Adam Lambert AMAs Performance Drawing Complaints
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 11.24.2009

ABC says it has received about 1,500 complaints as of yesterday over Adam Lambert's performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday, which featured a simulated BJ by a back-up dancer, a gay kiss and a big closing middle finger.

Lambert said his goal was "not to piss people off, it was to promote his new album freedom of expression and artistic freedom".

ABC cut the oral sex out of the west coast replay, but word of the performance had already spread across the internet. Lambert was a hot topic on Google and Twitter yesterday.

AMA producers said, "We did not expect the impromptu moments."

Who cares about dudes kissing dudes? The performance of the actual song fucking sucked. The song itself was awful. That's the only part anyone should be offended about.

Not a fan of Lambert, he shouldn't have done the simulated BJ or middle finger, but i have no problem with the kiss. A few years ago when it was Madonna and Britney Spears every body was all excited. Lambert is right about there being a double standard, he just crossed the line in trying to prove his point.

Jesus Christ, America! You do realize that it's been 35 years since Bowie gave a pretend BJ to Mick Ronson, don't you? GET THE FUCK OVER IT!

He (?) was claiming discrimination as soon as he stepped off the stage. Before it had even been aired he was complaining about a double standard.

I'm glad ABC is recieving complaints. Horrible, HORRIBLE thing that occured Sunday night. We have a gay, Lady Gaga type pop star in America now. The end is near. Pretty soon guys everywhere are going to hear one of his songs and break out into gay fuck and suck fests!

It's not freedom of expression or artistic freedom, it's nothing but using shock value in a transparent, desperate attempt to stay relevant.
