Liam Gallagher Says New Band May Still Be Called Oasis

Liam on new band...
Liam Gallagher recently stated to the Evening Standard that the band he records his new material with may still release their album under the Oasis name next year. Of course, he, along with Gem Archer and Andy Bell who are in his new band, were all part of the original Oasis along with Noel Gallagher who left the band in August. Liam said that his new material is "halfway there" and that they have booked studio time for early 2010.
"We're halfway there. We've got all the songs done," he told the Evening Standard. "We've got a bit of studio time booked after Christmas and we're going to get in there, do it quick, with no stewing on it."
Here's what he said about the band name...
"We're not using it [the Oasis name] at the moment, but if we don't come up with something else by the time we're ready to release the album it'll be Oasis. I'm not going to call myself something ridiculous just for the sake of it."
It also seems as if the beef between Liam and Noel is far from over, as Liam said he will no longer play any songs written by Noel live and that he doesn't really ever want to speak to him again.
"I'm sure he thinks [of Liam], 'I'll do my solo career and if it doesn't fucking pan out the way it's expected I'll give our kid [Noel] a ring because he'll be desperate and he'll do anything for Oasis.' Well, I'll say this right now: he's got another fucking thing coming. If he thinks he can ring me up at any given stage in his fucking lifetime, I'll be busy. I'll always be busy when he rings me up."
Liam is the biggest idiot to walk the earth. Noel's songs ARE Oasis. Do you think people are going to pay good money to hear "Little James" and "Songbird" over and over again?

Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Paul McArthur, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll were the ORIGINAL Oasis.

The only positive is that Andy Bell is a talented songwriter.
