Usher’s CD Is Delayed Again

Coming in March…
Usher's latest CD was set to drop on Super Bowl Sunday, but now, it has been pushed back to March 30th. The reason: A source at the record company says that Jive records will not put out the album until Usher signs with a new management firm. Usher's mother and former manager Jonetta Patton are on the outs and they severed their professional ties back in late November 2009. According to the source…
"She walked away from the project because Usher had his girlfriend [and former Def Jam executive] Grace Miguel was all in the mix. She felt as though if she didn't end things when she did, it would permanently affect their personal relationship."
Usher reportedly stated that he would manage himself, with the help of Grace Miguel, but the label feels that there is a lot of chaos there. As of now, it appears as if Usher will sign with AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips, who manages Lionel Ritchie and Toni Braxton, and before his death, managed Michael Jackson. Usher was even spotted sitting at Phillip's table at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash, adding more to the rumors that he will sign with him.
