The new album is produced by T-Bone Burnett, who worked on the Wallflowers' 1996 breakout album, Bringing Down the Horse. As you may have guessed by its title, the new album takes country and folk direction. "Nothing But the Whole Wide World" features Neko Case on backing vocals.

"I've known Jakob since he was a kid and have followed his evolution with great interest," Burnett says. "When he first sat down with a guitar and played me 'Nothing But the Whole Wide World,' it was clear that he had taken several steps forward in his songwriting -- that he was writing folk music, which is another way of looking at popular music.
