Bret Michaels Defends Duet With Miley Cyrus
Posted by Chris Lansdell on 02.28.2010

Bret Michaels has responded to criticism from people saying his recently-publicized duet with Miley Cyrus contained lyrics that were inappropriate for the teen star to be singing.

Bret said in interview that Miley had come by his studio to record a cover version of his hit song "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", and he played her a demo of "Nothin' to Lose."

"[Miley's] like, 'This is an incredible song, it's beautiful. Maybe I could some stuff to it, some harmonies.' I said, 'That'd be killer!'… I never sat down and said, 'Look at the content. Look at the lyrical content,'" Bret explained.

The questionable lyrics are:

"We both know better than this/Still we can't resist/Slowly get undressed."

and

"Won't you fall down on me/So close I can feel you breathe."

She knows her career is going nowhere and needs to ride someone's coattails. And she probably just wants to get in his pants

Jesus, teenagers aren't having sex, are they?

He doesn't even need to respond to this. What an uptight country to go insane about a teenage girl expressing ANY sexuality whatsoever, despite its obvious fetish for them.

I don't think "it was all her idea" holds up in a court of law, Brett. If...you know...

But for the record, it's a song. Not as big a deal as people make it out to be.

You obvious don't live in the real world if you think Cyrus needs any help with her career espicially from Bret Micheals. L0L

Seriously, she's seventeen. When Joey Buttafuoco had sex with Amy Fisher, they had to make sure some of it happened BEFORE her seventeenth birthday before they charged him with anything. I don't think singing about sex at seventeen is that big a deal if half of the US of A thinks that HAVING sex at seventeen is no big deal.
