Smashing Pumpkins Holding More Auditions
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 03.10.2010

Frontman Billy Corgan says the Smashing Pumpkins will hold auditions to find a new bassist and keyboardist.

Current touring bassist Ginger Pooley wants to spend time off of the road to raise her new baby. Electic Prunes bassist Mark Tulin is currently playing for the band and will continue until a permanent replacement for Pooley is hired.

Corgan says he's looking for someone with a prog-rock background, like Yes' Rick Wakeman, to fill the keys slot. No word on what happened with touring keyboardist Lisa Harriton.

Last year SP's had auditions to replace drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, which led to the addition of Mike Byrne to the line-up. Byrne, Corgan and Tulin are all involved with recording the new material for the Teargarden by Kaleidyscope project.

If you're interested, email a resume and performance clips to either pumpkinsbass@gmail.com or pumpkinskeys@gmail.com. Submissions are due by the end of this month.
