Future of "Star Search" in doubt...
Paula Abdul and ABC have reportedly abandoned the idea of Abdul hosting a new "Star Search" based on the two sides not being able to come to an agreement.
The deal was killed because Abdul was reluctant to take a lower salary for the show, and ABC was reluctant to indulge in such high figures for launching an untested reality show into a marketplace crowded with successful talent competitions.
The outcome puts the fate of the show in doubt since ABC's interest in "Search" was heavily tied to Abdul participating in the show.
