Gavin Rossdale Talks About Bush Reunion
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 07.20.2010

Gavin Rossdale recently spoke to Billboard about the Bush reunion.

"I felt the other stuff was cool, but it was more default than by design," Rossdale says of his other material. "That whole time I was thinking, 'Man, why is it not Bush? This is so crazy.' I'm so pleased because I've got my voice back. To be in Bush, the band you're basically born to be in, it's like a suit of armor. It's very exciting."

The Bush line-up includes Rossdale, original drummer Robin Goodridge, guitarist Chris Traynor (who joined in 2002) and new bassist Corey Britz. Gavin says he wanted original guitarist Nigel Pulsford in the mix, but says that Nigel "doesn't want to travel anymore. He's doing his own thing."

Bush is likely to release a new album, Everything Always Now, in October. It was produced by Bob Rock.

"It's tricky," Rossdale explains, "because you want the band to evolve and you want to make songs that people really care about, but you also don't want to repeat yourself. I was mindful of that. My musical vocabulary is better all the time -- I get better at playing guitar, I think this is the best I've ever sung, so I want the record to reflect that."

The band won't likely tour until 2011.

Dear Mr. Gwen Stefani,

No one cares about you anymore, you had one good record, that's why there were no more Bush albums afterwards. Stay at home an do your best Jack Butler impersonation (if you don't know what that is watch Mr. MOM)

I was really excited to hear about a new Bush album until I read it was produced by Bob Rock.

Bob Rock RUINS every band he produces.
