Wyclef Jean Not on Approved Candidate List for Haiti Election

Wyclef Jean is not on the list of officially approved candidates for Haiti's November 28 election. Cadidates must satisfy certain legal requirements in order to run in the election and Wyclef has not done so, according to a member of the provisional electoral council.
"He is not on the list as I speak," said the official, who asked not to be named. The list of approved candidates is due to be posted Friday.
Wyclef filed his documents with the council this month in order to run in the election. 33 other contenders also filed bids for initial candidacy.
