Russian pop faux-lesbians breaking up…
t.A.T.u. have called an end to themselves as a group. The Russian pop duo, best known for pretending to be lesbians in the early 00s and having hits with "All The Things You Said" and "Not Gonna Get Us," have announced that they are going their separate ways following the release of the remix album Waste Management Remixes last week.
"We've been doing our own thing for over two years now, and it was a logical conclusion. It's time to move forward," said singer Lena Katina. "People will remember us for great songs, being free, taking life as it is and not being afraid of anything. [There were] provocative images of two girls kissing each other, but the second thing was the really great music."
Both Katina and Yulia Volkova will be doing solo projects going forward, with Katina doing a pop-rock album.
"Maybe in 10 years, we'll say, 'Hey, let's do something together.' But I have no idea," she said. "There's no illusion in my head of [my solo work] getting t.A.T.u.'s success, but I'm just doing what I love."

Wow, this is a major surprise... I had no idea they were still around to begin with. I haven't heard a thing about these two in what, a decade now?

Yeah, not huge in the US, partly because they don't speak English very well. However, check out their sales overseas. Sadly, they are really talented, I'm interested to see what comes out of their solo efforts.
Want to see what they can really do? Look up the video for "White Robe" on your favorite video streaming site.
