Moby is Not a Fan of Britney Spears or Ke$ha
Posted by AJ Grey on 05.30.2011

- Moby recently spoke about the music of Britney Spears and Ke$ha, here is what he had to say…

"It's fun, but I don't think of it as music. It's manufactured. I appreciate it as a pop culture phenomenon and some of the songs I like if I hear them in a shopping mall or something, but it doesn't function as music for me. Music is something that communicates emotion and integrity in a really interesting, direct way, and when I listen to the pop music you're describing, it's hyper-produced corporate product. That isn't really even a criticism, but I just think calling it music is a misnomer."

He is absolutely right. I agree with Moby's analogy.

Odd to say this, but Moby's totally right & knows exactly what he's talking about.

I don't think he's relevant & no one really cares what he thinks at this point in his career, but he's totally right regardless.

Moby is relevant.

Hey Moby, how are those checks from selling every single one of your tracks from "Play" to air in commercial treating you?

Hyper-produced corporate product, indeed.

Boring pop musician doesn't care for other boring pop musicians. News at 11.

Because techno isn't overly produced.

Moby's right but it's not like dance/electronic music is any good either.

Even though he might be right, how many people even know what songs he sings or even know who the hell he is

Everything mentioned here, including Moby, is utter garbage.

There's a difference and nobody here understands it, apparently.

Moby did that to market his album because at the time his music didn't get a lot of play on either the radio or on MTV. It was a marketing strategy, and it worked.

And I guess if you're not seeing the difference between Moby and Britney Spears or Ke$ha, then that's your problem.
