Clarence Clemons gets a tribute too...
Update: U2 also paid tribute at their Anaheim show to late E Street Band member Clarence Clemons, who passed away this weekend.
Before performing "Moment of Surrender", Bono said: "I want you to think about the beautiful symphonic sound that came out of one man's saxophone. I want you to think about Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band of brothers. I want you to think of Clarence Clemons. This man just carried music, and music carried him, until this day."
Bono added several words from the E Street band song "Jungleland" at the end of the performance.
Original: U2 dedicated two of their songs to Representative Giffords and Maria Shriver Friday night at a concert in Anaheim.
Shriver was in the crowd, and Bono called out: "For Maria Shriver who's here tonight!" before the band played "Pride (In The Name of Love)".
Next, before playing "Beautiful Day", they dedicated it to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Her husband Mark Kelly gave a video message for his wife. He said: "I look forward to coming home. Tell my wife I love her very much. She knows."
Giffords was shot five months ago by a crazed gunman and has been recovering.
