Michael Jackson Hired Impersonator to Sing On The Simpsons Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.27.2011
So says Lisa Simpson…
Michael Jackson didn't actually sing "Happy Birthday Lisa" on a famous episode of The Simpsons in 1991. Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa Simpson, told TMZ that Jackson hired an Kipp Lennon to sing the song for him after his record label blocked him from doing so.
"[Michael] was not allowed to sing on the show, so he literally hand-picked a guy to sing like him," she said. "How unnerving would it be to sing like Michael Jackson in front of Michael Jackson?"
The episode saw Lennon voice a mental patient who thought he was Jackson.
