Lil Wayne On Top Of Billboard 200, Adele and Beyonce Get Boost In Sales
Posted by Joseph Lee on 09.07.2011

Lil Wayne is now #1 on the Billboard 200 after his album Tha Carter IV sold 964,000 copies. This puts it at number two for highest selling of the year, just ahead of Jay Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne and just below Lady Gaga's Born This Way.

Meanwhile, as a result of their appearances on the Video Music Awards, both Beyonce and Adele see huge sales increases. Adele had a 88% sales gain while Beyonce's album 4 went up 87% and is back on the top ten.

Red Hot Chili Peppers also scored a big debut, as I'm With You landed #2 with 229,000. On any other week that would be good enough for a #1.

Game's R.E.D. Album, which was #1 last week, has dropped all the way to #8, a 60% decrease.

Here is the full top ten:

1. Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV (964,000)
2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You (229,000)
3. Adele - 21 (154,000)
4. Jay Z and Kanye West - Watch the Throne (88,000)
5. David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat (58,000)
6. Jake Owen - Barefoot Blue Jean Night (55,000)
7. Beyonce - 4 (39,000)
8. Game - The R.E.D. Album (39,000)
9. Barbra Streisand - What Matters Most (37,000)
10. Now 39 (36,000)

Red Hot Chili Peppers makes real music while Lil' Wayne makes fake music for little girls that are also Justin Bieber fans.
