UPDATE: New York health officials have dismissed complaints about Lenox Hill Hospital regarding their alleged neglect of other patients while Beyonce was giving birth. Health Department spokesman Jeffrey Gordon confirmed that the department reviewed two complaints about the hospital and dismissed both by Wednesday night.
The executive director of the hospital noted that it was looking into the complaints on its own as well. Barbara Osborn said that they were interviewing parents who had children in the newborn wing. "We have spoken to seven out of the 10," she said. "None have reported being stopped from seeing their babies."
Osborn did confirm that security cameras were taped over for a short time when Beyonce and company was being moved, "but only when a security guard was present" on the fourth floor.
ORIGINAL: The New York Health Department is looking into complaints from parents that allege they were neglected by the staff at Lenox Hill Hospital while Beyonce was giving birth. TMZ reports that a rep for the Health Department has confirmed that they're looking into the complaints, which led to several new parents discussing the possibility of a lawsuit during a recent breastfeeding class.
"Whenever we receive a complaint, we look into it," said the rep. "It's not necessarily an investigation. It could be a review. Most likely in this case, it would be an investigation."
