Pending his appeal...
Conrad Murray has filed documents asking him to be freed from jail pending his appeal. TMZ reports that Murray is seeking a release on bail, arguing that he has a legit basis to appeal his conviction for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. He lists "improper exclusion of defense evidence and witnesses that resulted in violating the defendant's State and constitutional rights to due process, to present a defense and to the effective assistance of counsel" as the grounds for his appeal and notes, "He has exhausted virtually all of his available resources."
Murray says that if released he would live with Nicole Alvarez, the mother of his child, and would be willing to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet. He would also look for a job to support his kids, although his medical license has been revoked.
Murray's lawyer says that he has been placed in "maximum security" in jail and is isolated in a solitary cell as well as escorted through the facility with his hands chained to his waist.
