Britney Spears' Lawyers Accuses Ex-Manager of Illegally Retaining Drug Test Results
Posted by AJ Grey on 01.30.2012

Britney Spears' legal team has accused her former manager Sam Lufti of violating a judge's order to obtain the results of Spears' drug test results from 2007. Radar Online reports that Lufti is trying to obtain the results of the test, which was administered as part of the process Spears used to regain custody of her children.

Spears' lawyers are arguing that Lufti has no legal right to introduce the drug test results in his lawsuit against them for wrongful termination, as the judge in the original case ordered the documents sealed. Spears' team is arguing that Lufti must file his request for the results with the original judge that ordered the documents sealed, as the judge handling Lufti's lawsuit doesn't have the jurisdiction to unseal the records.

"These documents on their face appear to fall squarely within the scope of sealing orders issued by Judge Gordon," state the lawyer's filing. "Rather than apply to Judge Gordon for relief from the sealing orders in the family law proceedings, Lutfi inappropriately invoked the conditional sealing provisions...in an attempt to unseal some of the records that are subject to sealing orders issued by Judge Gordon."
