Lady Gaga's Parents' Italian Restaurant Slammed By Critic
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.03.2012

A food critic who snuck into a critic-banned opening of the Italian restaurant belonging to Lady Gaga's parents has trashed the place in a review. The New York Post's Steve Cuozzo managed to sneak inside and get a taste of the eatery's dishes, comparing it with airline food in a review titled "You'll gag on the food at Gaga's."

In the review, Cuozzo says that the appetizers took nearly an hour to arrive and that "Grilled calamari with bitter greens and radicchio were the worst I've had in a lifetime of squid-mongering, the salad unseasoned and the calamari like leather." Cuozzo made several references to Gaga in the review, such as the opening paragraph that reads "Forget 'The Edge of Glory' - on opening night, 'Lady Gaga restaurant' Joanne on West 68th Street was close to the edge of collapse... You don't expect a brand-new eatery to be running on all cylinders. But Joanne, owned by the pop superstar's parents, last night was running mainly on acrid-smelling burnt vinegar wafting intermittently through the raucous dining room."

Gag herself was not at the opening night, although Tony Bennett was. Gaga had been rumored to be giving her thoughts on the menu and created art for the restaurant's walls.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She is a shyster just like her parents.

Sounds more like a vendetta against gaga and trying to get noticed than actually reviewing the food at the place.

How do we even know he got in? I have a friend who is a food critic for the local paper. He said he doesn't even eat at half the places he writes about. Food critics are as fraudulent as Lady Gaga as a musician.

Really how pathetic do you have to be to be a restaurant critic?
